I've been wanting to start a thread about this ever since I read the script. I'm really eager to discuss it, and I figured since a fair amount of members here have also read the script, this thread would work.

*Note mods, if for some reason you deem it necessary to close this thread, I have no complaints.

I'll get the ball rolling. I love the script, my only real qualm is we're not five minutes into the main film (after the titles) before we're thrust into an action scene. Does that seem to quick for anyone else?

I kinda know what you mean. Usually there is a periord of calm after the PTS and MTS but this one goes straight into the first major action sequence. It may just balance out in the final film since the PTS is actually alot more subdued than in recent films where the PTS was pretty much the first epic action scene.

Five minutes is a longer period of time than say Octopussy's action sequence straight after the titles.

I agree - with Brosnans films we weren't five minutes into the PTS before a big action sequence.

we got the scene with Le Chiffre before though.

I really enjoyed reading the script and i am shaken and stirred by the action sequence, reading the script, Casino Royale will be the Best Bond movie ever IMO - everything you want to see in a Bond movie is there (Sex, Violence, Betrayal and a Brilliant 007) :)

Agreed. The MIA scene will be classic, too, but the parkour chase should be the best chase in the film (foot chase that is). The dialogue isn't bad, I just hope Haggis did a good job of taking out some of those corny lines (the few that are in there) and cleaning the rest of it up. The thing I'm most pleased with though is how they handeled the poker game. Without the stairwell fight and the poisening that scene probably would have dragged a bit. The last scene should be epic though, what a way to end the film and officially usher in the new Bond. I can't wait!

Well, I haven't read the script, but since I don't mind even extreme spoilers I'll ask a few questions, open, of course, to anyone who's read it:

- What do you like best about it?

- What do you like least?

- Is Haggis' input obvious, in other words, does the script make you think "Oh, wow, they've definitely got a real pro in this time round"?

Best Part- Balance of Action and how it actually moves the story along unlike the Brosnan ones that seemed to be there just for effect.

Least- Nothing, I love it.

I haven't seen the Haggis revision so thats all I know.

I am surprised how much detail is put into writing action scenes - because I thought it would be something like

Bond: I am going to get you

BOND JUMPS ONTO CRANE AND FIGHTS

Bomber: Ha ha you cant get me

THEY FIGHT SOME MORE, HE JUMPS AWAY

more dialogue

(Note to Mods: Not real dialogue) - anyway, the action scenes are so detailed

So, what is it then?

I too haven't read the script, but I don't mind at all the extreme spoilers.
Please indulge me! :)

Ok, I'm not going to read the script (I've done that mistake once and will never do it again...) but still, I have have one small question: Is the dialogue witty and sophisticated like the older Bondfilms or is it more like LTK/DAD?

Its lesser Moore/Brosnan, more Connery style quips and one liners than innuendo and smut

This thread must be someone's idea of a joke, as no one have the script anywhere online, except a couple of pages there and there. The link posted above is a con. That's a bit like making fun of all the forum member who would fancy a read, but can't. Post a working link or a working hint, or don't bother at all :)

We didn't get the script from a website, if thats what your implying. Someone sent it to me, as I would imagine everyone else. And I think it would be illegal to post it.

I didnt think (though I imagine I should have) that opening a thread like this would invite people to PM me asking for the script. Please, don't, I can't divulge it, I know that sucks, but that's the way it goes.

Re: my original point about the action sequence, I forgot about that bit with LeChiffre, that seems to work then (havent read it in a bit, actually). I think the action sequences balance nicely with the story, it's just that the Parkour chase feels a bit OTT, it seems odd that Bond would go to all that trouble for just one man.
