One thing someone else also mentioned was that it appears the shots where taken in the afternoon yet the sequence should be night. I wonder if they will be using a digital grading or filtering to make the shots look like night with what they with the surfing in the DAD PTS.

I wouldn't worry too much if digital grading is what they do. Gives them the light they need to get the actual shots right, and it's not like we're talking CGI Surfing here. Day-to-night is the oldest trick in the book and you probably would never know.

Slight exaggeration by the Sun .....

LOL....I can't say I am surprised....a lot of what The Sun says should be prefaced with this. :D

I wish people would stop bashing the tabloids- it's where we've got pretty much all of our information from, from Craig's casting to shooting details to first look at publicity shots to whatever you want, really. They might embellish a little, but they're good newsgatherers and distributors. Let's give them a little respect, bearing in mind how much stuff they give us!

Jesus. I make a post, and the ambient MT dives in with a view to a tabloid 'mass apology'.

So. Do you work for the tabloids, or are you merely defending them, or just going against me in your usual arrogant manner?.

Since when have you been an authority on newspapers, and even more important, an expert on Dr Who?.

Obviously you're the asset to this Establishment, and anything else is in the the past.

I hope you you agree now that I was right that your hero Billie Piper was leaving. And all I got from you was abuse

So. Do you work for the tabloids, or are you just another wannabe?.

Not sure what all that's about.

But there is a point - bit scabby though they may be, most of the stuff bunged onto our front page / the stuff we've nicked comes from the tabs (this is despite the fact that most UK papers are now taloids, but that's another issue). It's also quite interesting to watch their usual "destroy him / build him up and it was us what did that / destroy him again" thing happening with Daniel Craig.

Do those Aston Martin's look black or dark green to you?

If they are black then I'll be very happy. I'm sick of the endless silver cars. Bond will also blend in a little better and black is also my favourite colour car.

Umm, no- I have nothing to do with journalism or newpaper production and no particular desire to have anything to do with them. I just think all this tabloid-bashing on this forum (not just from you) is a little ironic considering how much we get from them. In fact I'm sure I remember you offering to host a scan I took from the Sun a month or two ago so others here could see it. Aren't you a bit grown-up to have such a strange stropping fit, Ian? I've no idea what all this Dr Who business is about either, I'm afraid.

I've never been described as 'ambient' before- I rather like it!

Moving on, with regard to the photos on the front page- where's the Aston? It says in the text it's in there somewhere and I can't spot it! Incidentally- it's a Daimler and not a Bentley.

I believe they're silver. At least one that was caught on camera in the Czech location was silver.
Silver is good. :D

I really can't believe anyone would defend the tabloids, they are complete scum .... brain less twits with sub GCSE news skills and writing levels....I am teacher of teenagers so I know what I am talking about....

for anyone to apply the term 'news gatherers' to the tabloids has to be a post Murdoch generation. ...but not young enough to have embraced the web and all its mutlifacted sources that debunk most of the garbage that passes as news in the Tabloids. ...literally within a few seconds

HOWEVER, in the case of celebrity news you have a point as we now live in a celebrity age where stories (re. Lies) about well known people passes as news gathering

In the traditional sense the reporters don't actually go out and 'gather news'...in the sense that they follow a story, challenge orthodoxy, question authority..you know like they are supposed to....in the service of democracy...you can pretty much chart the decline of western democracy with the increasing corportization and then consolidation of the press..the two go hand in hand...America is probably the best example!!!

even in the case of celbrity stories most of their garbage can be debunked pretty quickly ...either with a quick internet search (which most tabloid hacks OR their readers can't seem to do) or with common sense

They do gather news in the sense that they get sent a photo, and then make something up, e.g front teeth getting knocked out, not being able to drive a shift. And they are so arrogant they think WE TAKE THEM SERIOUSLY..

They are not NEWS GATHERERS....they regurgitate celebrity crap cos that is what sells..they are all good little corporoate monkeys and it makes them alot of money.

who wants to question the term'war on terror'or challenge a government press release when its easier to say DAniel Craig got his teeth knocked out..

I am sorry but in a world ruled by unaccountable corporations anyone who says the tabloids are news gatherers has to be a complete LOON ..

I know I have gone on a bit...but given the power of News Corps etc I find it difficult to believe anyone would try and defend it..

whose side are you on?

Oddly ironic given the terrible grammar and puntuation of your writing. How can one who doesn't even know a sentence starts with a captial letter and ends with a full stop criticise anyone's writing skills?
Anyway, sadly you're simply incorrect about their methods- just plain wrong. So there's no point in carrying on with this.

On the subject of the colour of the car- it's called 'Casino Ice' and appears to be some kind of dark silver which is deep enough to appear very dark from some angles but just plain silver from others. Cant wait to see it with my own eyes.

"Sides" is so 2005, don't you think?

Some of it's patently rubbish, some of it isn't rubbish. But you could apply that to any occupation. Like, say, teaching (plucked out of the air I know not why).

It's a very pretty car and it's a very Bond thing to just destroy the nadgers out of it - hugely profligate. Bit like dumping a Roller into a lake or crushing a Lincoln Continental.

right lets gets this down.

1. You're comparing teaching to the increasingly corporate dominated press?

Therefore....
2. You think teaching (as presumably the fifth estate?) is becoming less able to play a part in maintaining the health of democracy because of an ever increasing corporate agenda?

WTF?

as for

"Oddly ironic given the terrible grammar and puntuation of your writing. How can one who doesn't even know a sentence starts with a captial letter and ends with a full stop criticise anyone's writing skills?

well I do apologize for my dodgy typing skills but contributing to a forum hardly qualifies as equal to writing for a national newspaper...

THe SUN etc are actually quite good at Grammar etc.... Its their absorption of corporate ideals, their inability to challnge authority, their hypocrisy, their flagrant lying, their lack of respect either for their readers or for the people they report on, their lack what might be considered proper jounralism...visit any school newspaper and you will see more journalism than you're obviously able to deal with

and as for your comment that says "just plain wrong" ..please correct me I would love to be educated as to why the tabloid press has declined over the years. You might not know this but what we consider to be the 'gutter press' had a huge influence years ago and were considered legitimate outlets for working class (indeed all) expression. It was genuine journalism. The Sun and The Mirror were held in high regard...hard hitting, investigative..challenging...now what do we have..mmmmmm?

let me think......does complete bollocks spring to mind?

Go on defend MUrdoch and co. I would love to hear it. I really want to hear this...You actually think journalism as profession has improved with Murdoch's influence...????

Clearly you're not able to respond. You MUST be a Murdoch Lackey. You gave the game away by not challenging ONE assumption.

Sorry about my grammar now please respond to my points.....

you actually want to defend the current state of journalism in what has probably been the worst ten years of the profession?

Tossers the lot of them.

Rant over.

what was this thread about again?

sorry I have just re read all of that. I clearly forgot why I am here ...

I am allowed rants now and then though...but Tabloids for me are like the proverbial red rag ..

No.

Just that, as with all things, teaching and reporting can be done well or be done badly. Like replacing a lightbulb, or sucking out the contents of a radiator, or grieving a dead puppy or walking downstairs.

Or reading.

The thread is about cars.

A string of accusations and bizarre extrapolations pulled out of nowhere; conclusions derived from nowhere and leapt to through anger and knee-jerk reactions. Which makes you better than these tabloid fellas... how?

You've decided a whole lot about my views on this subject, what I actually said and what I didn't, and my whole career and lifestyle on your own so I don't think you really need me to reply as you're doing very well making it all up your own. Just like these tabloid fellas you drone on about. I think you should join old Murdoch's corporate sheep- you seem very well suited. Well, apart from the whole 'inability to write' thing.

And if we carry on like this Jim will close the thread. So: cars. Is it set at night-time or what?

Cars.

Do we know if they're still filming at Millbrook? I've heard that the second unit is currently split between Dunsfold Aerodrome and Millbrook - completing the Miami sequence and car chase scenes.

Wait. Theres a car chase in Miami? no I am misinterpreting.

Has to be said Second Unit is very busy and I wanna see them get some credit when the films comes out. Movie media (not the tabloids) always wax lyrical about the director, maybe the scriptwriter and cinemaphotographer but 2nd units never get a mention.

E.g. Paul Greengrass always gets mentioned for the Bourne 2 Moscow car scenes but they were 2nd Unit!!!! designed and executed by the stunt crew and not by PG....I d be annoyed.

Its like Lee Major's Colt Seivers used to say

"I'm the unknown stuntman who made Eastwood such a star"

actually he sang it...but you see the point. Pleased to see that as fans we are bigging up the second unit. True movie fans.

Wait. Theres a car chase in Miami? no I am misinterpreting.

Yeah sorry I phrased that badly. It's a completely different sequence set in Miami being filmed at Dunsfold. Apologies for any confusion.

And for the record, the 2nd Unit Director is Alexander Witt - he will definitely deserve some credit if the scenes turn out as exciting as they have the potential to be. I was wondering only yesterday how much freedom the 2nd Unit Director has in what they shoot, or to what extent they are governed from the overall movie director.

I think its a case of a lot of storyboarding before hand (you would have to with so much money at stake) but I can't see Campbel being intimately involved in day to day shooting of the car scenes. He is too busy with the principals. I can see this being the age of the 2nd Unit Guy as internet sites like us will become more educated to the Wheres hows and whys. I have never heard P Greengrass bigging up his second unit though and that is discouraging.(he mayhave done somewhere) The Moscow car chase took months to plan and execute by the stunt crew and it is one of the stand out moments in an excellent series. (albeit two in length).

Although PG does use the royal 'we' when talking about the up coming Bourne film, apparently the car chase willbe even bigger....
