Bond + Gun = cool

Let's face it, for all of the cool of the PPK, sometimes, it's just not enough weapon in some situations, although, I hate it when the good guy is able to mow down 50 guys with his machine gun, while the 50 OTHER guys with machine guns can't seem to put even 1 bullet in the good guy - VERY irritating if you ask me. Ah, well, that's Hollywood.
Regards.

That photo is hilarious and cool at the same time.

Wonderful- lovely to see; many thanks. So it isn't an iPod and, 'tentatively titled Casino Royale'?! Bit late to change your mind! Also, 'Casino Royale Productions Limited'?

Put one measure of Connery, one of McQueen, one sharp suit, and a very large slice of Craig style, and you

That picture owns. Craig really IS James Bond - and he's looking badass.

All I can say is Bravo!!! Finally!!! A Bond that keeps his finger OUTSIDE of the trigger guard when he isn't shooting!!! As much as I love the Bond novels and films, this has ALWAYS

It's ironic to me that DC, who apparently has a strong dislike of firearms, is the only actor to handle them with the cautious respect that a piece of deadly machinery should have.

[/sermon]
As far as I am concerned, DC has won me over and will not need wait a moment further to win me from my previous wait and see/neutral position to my now enthusiastic endorsement!

For me, this is the coolest picture YET of Craig. The suit, the natural pose, the expression, and the Connery-like attitude. Absolutely cool. I have to agree with others that say Craig and a machine gun look more compatible than it did for Brosnan.
mark, I'm also not seeing 2,3,4.
EDIT: link was going to the wrong photo. Fixed now.

I was thinking exactly the same thing! I reckon this scene could be absolutely awesome, and be one of the coolest moments of the Bond history. Probably seems like an exaggeration at this stage, but this may be an image that defines Craig as Bond. Should be amazing I hope!People who have already read the script know what this scene is about, and damn..., I just printed those pictures and put them next to the pages, read them again, and got drunk only with the sight of the film in my head

Eon made the best choice, he just looks ultra cool, the suit fits him very well, and he also seems to be a believable secret agent.

I don't know what is exactly. Craig just looks kinda *independent filmish* in those shots...not a bad thing. Besides,I always wanted QT to do CR.

Anyway, cool pics. I love every suit we've seen so far.

Don't get me wrong, he looks quite good. I'm sure it'll come off differently in the film.
And Tarl, I kind of get what you mean about the Tarantino-esque vibe. Hard to explain.

Perhaps it's the vest, but he sort of looks US Secret Service, Presidential detail to me in those shots.

I think it's the juxtaposition of 'violent' and 'mundane'. Here's a guy that can thumb through his iPod while keeping his MP5 at the ready and somehow looks completely natural doing it.
And to address the issue of what type of gun it is; I'm not sure either! The silencer, front end, and magazine all seem like a MP5, but the rear half and buttstock seem too...chunky somehow. Maybe the SAS has some new SMG I'm yet unaware of.

There's a nice Japanese influence there, what with the long suit that kind of flows off him in some pics in this set, plus the huge oversized weapon that he's carrying around in one hand (again, almost like a sword).
That all contrasts with the sharp suit.

I read elsewhere it's a suppressed Heckler and Koch UMP-9 HKs follow up to the MP5, if that means anything to anyone.
