There's a new movie coming out. It stars Samuel L. jackson and it's called Snakes On A Plane. Yes, it's true. And no i'm not joking! Seriously! It's about Poisonous Snakes released inside an airplane, causing terror. And Samuel L. Jackson kills snakes and shouts "WE GOT MOTHERf***ING SNAKES INSIDE THIS MOTHERf***ING PLANE!". Want some proof that this movie does exist? Here: IMDB Webpage for Snakes On a Plane. See i'm right. And i'll bet this movie will rock because it's R rated and is a return to creature horror movies. Ok, so now you can laugh!

Ah yes, the film with the best title in years. I've gotta see this, it's already a cult classic and the thing hasn't even hit theaters yet! Not sure what it says about me that of all the summer releases, this is the one I'm really looking forward to but what the heck...

I don't see what the fuss is about. There are plenty of dumb movies coming out, why does this one get a huge (and bizarre) internet cult?

Now that the novelty's worn off, I'm not terribly impressed by this. I love cult films and B-movies, but these are only truly enjoyable when a cult following develops naturally (eg. Rocky Horror, Bad Taste), or if the film is awful despite the best intentions of the film-makers (eg. Showgirls). With SoaP, it looks as if the producers are actively trying too hard to make a B-movie, and marketing it as a cult film. Which apart from anything else defeats the whole point of why such films are fun to watch in the first place.

The only really good thing about this movie is the new series of jokes it's spawned (mostly in the form of LJ icons). "Serpents Upon a Dirigible" is my favourite, as well as the MST3K: Eegah crossover ("Watch out for snakes...ON A PLANE!").

I agree that's it's being marketed way too hard as a cult film. Cult films are born, not made.

True but the movie studio would have to be a fool not to ride this wave. They ran the teaser for this before X3. The build up is tremendous- you almost think a Michael Bay film is coming your way.

All I really wanna know is if Sam's going to say the line...

[font=Arial Black][size=4]WE'VE GOT SNAKES ON THE .....F'IN PLANE!!!!

Jackson says Snakes on a Plane will be movie of the year at the MTV movie awards. Citing it winning over James Bond because it doesn't have snakes. :D

well the reason it has such a huge internet cult following is casue the whole thing started off as a joke on the net. some dude made this picture - http://home.comcast....kes_800x600.jpg - like four or five years ago (god knows why?) and the stupid thing got circulated all over the net, and then years later they are actually making it a movie, which is just beyond funny and bizarre!

hope that clears it up a lil.

Oh yeah I saw a preview of it watching X3

looks stupid.....thats my opinion, I mean if there is a snake on a plane step on the head or something, Dont make a movie about it.
After seeing United 93, Red Eye and Flightplan I cant wait for my next plane ride. Thanks Hollywood :-P

I wish they had Snakes in Die Another Day. That could've saved Brosnan's Bond career.

Sometimes you just need some mindless fun.
As long as it's not vulgar (shades of Ace Venture: Pet Detective  )
I can enjoy just plain dumb, every now and again :D

I just saw the trailer for this when I went to the movies to see My Super Ex-Girlfriend. Yes, it's going to be silly, but, hey, I've already talked my husband into going.
The trialer looks entertaining and Samuel looks pretty good :)

Snakes on the DAD plane might have increased that sequence's credibility, and yes I'm being serious. As it stands it's the laziest, dreariest climax to a Bond film there has ever been.

RE : S.O.A.P...
I'm looking forward to this. It's clearly just going to be a simple, uncomplicated gross-out movie (for snake-haters, anyway), and what's wrong with that? I don't really see the problem with this self-designed cult film thing. Who cares how the film is being marketed? All I will care about is whether it was worth my money on the door.

"Wow, great film. Shame they marketed it as a cult film though, because that completed ruined the experience for me". Err, yeah.
