Hmmm....Good point. :D

Maybe we can drunkenly re-enact the FRWL pre-titles in the gardens...Which one of us gets strangled is entirely dependent on who has had more pints. :D

Ohhhh man...This is already going downhill.

From Lusher With Love ?

Yup, Covent Garden celler place(s) still extant. Everyone has their favourites, though.

Look, hic, forward to bumping into some of you chaps.

In case you hadn't heard, Caroline Bliss will not be attending this event due to work commitments(?).

More news from Andy of Bondstars...

"Sadly, due to family commitments, Elaine Schreyeck cannot now make
the event and sends her apologies. However we are extremely pleased
to announce that Caroline Munro and Kate Gayson (yes, Eunice's
daughter) will be attending...Kate had a cameo role in GOLDENEYE and
this will be her first ever public appearance, and first ever signing.

Since many of you are trying to guess who the mystery guest is, we
thought we should put you out of your misery. Our mystery guest is
none other than Little Nellie, the autogyro. Although Wing
Commander Ken Wallis isn't allowed to fly her, but he
will be giving a talk, answering any questions and allowing you to
have your photograph taken with Little Nellie herself."

Sounds very cool. Shame there cannot be a performance of Little Nellie.

I'm guessing Wallis isn't allowed to fly her because of his age or insurance reasons. Couldn't they hire someone who could fly her?

Not knowing very much about it all, I'm guessing some form of insurance problem would still arise.

Regardless of the reasons for Little Nellie being "grounded", getting the opportunity to meet Commander Wallis and see/be photographed with Little Nellie is still very cool, indeed.

Ken's age is not a problem, as he has his pilots licence. To put it in a nutshell, the problem in that display pilots have to apply annually for a display permit, which for the number of times Ken would display at air shows, made it more trouble than it's worth. Which for someone who has seen Ken display many times, is a damned shame.

As to another pilot, it just wouldn't be the same, although I would like to see her in the air again.

Lastly, there probably isn't really the space to safely take off and land at Pinewood - Nellie's first demo at Pinewood would probably not be allowed these days on health & safety grounds.

TheSaint, you're welcome, you too Qwerty.

I've known Ken for some years now and even wrote (some years ago) a lengthy article for Dave Worrall's 007 Collectors Mag, and Graham Rye's 007 Magazine (as well as shorter pieces for other fan magazines) as my other interest away from 007 is aeroplanes (particularly the older WarBird variety), so when the two meet, I'm in my element.

For those others of you that are attending Bond Girls, I can assure you that when Ken gives his talk, you'll be enraptured, even his non-Bond stories (for want of a better word) are fascinating.

I also feel it a shame that Andy had to give the game away of Little Nellie being the special guest, because so many people couldn't wait for the surprise.

Well, in a way it's good that Andy let the cat out of the bag so those of us attending could bring something for Mr.Wallis to sign. I can't tell you how bummed I would feel upon arriving at Pinewood and finding out that Wallis was there, and I had brought nothing for him to sign.

Speaking of, Pamela Salem will also be attending this event.

I'm lucky enough to be going, and can't wait to see Little Nellie in person!

It's 11:30pm London time, and I'm in an internet cafe checking my e-mail and giving a bare bones rundown of Bondgirls are Forever 2006.

Martin Mulder(Onthetracksof007)and I arrived at 9:30am and, along with the other other 178 attendees, entered the event where we were given a program and were able to partake in coffee or tea at the Pinewood bar. We then went to the room where all the guests & dealers were, and the sport commenced. I got autographs, for

I attended the event too, the 1st event of this type I had attended and had a fantastic day (there was in fact 118 guests, not 178 as TheSaint thought).

The Bond girls seemed very relaxed and approachable, and I was lucky enough to spend some time talking to Maud Adams and Caroline Munro, who have to be two of my favourite Bond girls (Caroline is especially nice). It was also very nice talking to Kate Gayson who seemed very relaxed, although I understand it was her first signing ever!

The tour itself was great (I was in the 1st group with Gareth) and it was exciting to see so many references to Casino Royale, it's just a shame that they were closed sets - no doubt we'll recognise what we saw when the film comes out however! Great to see Goldfinger Avenue where the DB5 crashed in Goldfinger!

I have a bit of a bit forehead today (which goes some way to show how hot it really was yesterday) but wish I could go back for some more. It's interesting to note about filming in Black Park, which is just behind the back lot at the studios.

Thanks to Andy and Gareth, and everyone else I met, for a great day!

It was great fun indeed and very nice meeting some of the other CBn'ers again.

Seeing some of the CR sets was awesome and I can't wait to see how they turn out in the film.

Looking forward to next year's event!

The main (Venice(?)) set in the 007 stage has been closed to all now for the last two weeks. Apparently they have now filled it with water and even the chap who worked on it (who was going to take me to see it) wasn't permitted on set any longer.

He did say it was a superb set though.

Was this the model you saw?

The model's we saw was of Miami Airport (complete with a plane in the hanger) on Stage 3 I think it was, a miniature Venice set in a large tank, but there was an was an "underwater" set in the 007 stage which we were not allowed in to say - this was most definitely closed. We weren't allowed to take any of the sets, but I attach a piccy of a poster on a door of the 007 stage for info:-

Our name tags should've had our CBn screen names listed so that we would know who the other CBners were.

Guess you were the seventh person to buy a ticket to the event, Mrsjs.

Here's a funny story that happened days after the event...I'm at Heathrow with my consolation prizes when an overzealous airport employee almost made me miss my flight home because the Sideshow Roger as Bond figure from TMWTGG had a gun, and he didn't think I could take it on the plane. He called over his superior to ask whether I could take the figure aboard the plane. He took one look at the gun the figure comes with, shot his subordinate a look, and said I was fine. By the time I arrived at the gate, the passengers were already going on to the plane. Unbelievable.
