ten bucks says it ends up being a stupid comedy staring ben stiller...
But seriously I've often thought about what 1990s tv shows will get remade as movies in 20 years....
Melrose Place could be a brilliant comedy and social satire on the early 90s
I could see The Nanny getting remade... perhaps with Brosnan as Mr. Sheffield? lol
Even though it had a feature film I could deffinately see someone swooping in on the X-Files in the future.

Although not a fan, it's one show I could actually see worthy of another feature film. There's lots of possibilities with that show that could go on forever. Did Magnum really leave any lingering questions people need answered in a feature film?Even though it had a feature film I could deffinately see someone swooping in on the X-Files in the future.
The Stiller comedy thing sounds like too likely a scenario. When will it end?

Yet another remake. Yawn. Can't wait til Hardcastle and McCormick: The Movie or Riptide: The Motion Picture.
Greg's Previews on Yahoo Movies did a spoof page a couple of years back for a Hardcastle and McCormick movie, with Sigourney Weaver and Chris Rock in the leads. As a concept it doesn't sound any worse than the recent summer fare Hollywood has offered up.

That's right! I think Tom doing is a new TV series and can't take the part.

[mra]As far as I know Selleck is only working on the Jesse Stone films. He

Now, not so sure. It could still work, but only if handled the right way. Shoot on the same location, and play it relatively straight (i.e., don't camp it up any more than the show already was). And if they're going to do it, they HAVE to use Selleck. Also, I would insist on TC, Higgie-baby, Zeus and Apollo all featuring prominently. Rick, I could take or leave.

They optioned it and were planning a TV movie. Selleck only wants to do a big screen - but it could work. I'd heard Clooney was in the running. The only change being the trio (Magnum, Rick and TC) were now all Gulf War 1 vets.
I think it wouldn't work on the big screen, but we'd all like to see a reunion movie on TV. Hell, that cast was/is TV family to a lot of us.

...Really good stuff. You handle that typewriter like you handle a 21 year old single malt. Smooth and with style!
No..., ahem, really!
Thank you ACE - Digging up the file and finding about forty pages, I forgot how fun it was/is/could be.
And BTW - I found a post it note with "OBE? KBE?" on the printed pages. Clearly I was checking my facts.
As to how I handle a typewriter and 21 year old scotch...carefully.
I've handled a few 21 year olds though. Mostly curvy co-eds

Also, just got season three on DVD. First Episode "Did You see the Sunrise?" is one of the best of the series.
