Interesting. One thing I thought about was the role of the Bahamas. Will it be the setting of Bond's illfated hoilday with Vesper or will it double as Jamaica, which was Bond's home after he retired from the Navy(SAS) and before he joined MI6.

OK, Bond will Drive the DB5 for one scene, not wear a tux, not wear a tie or a suit, probably will order a Martini Vodka shaken not stirred before changing his mind and ask for a JB whiskey on the rocks (wink, wink, nudge nudge), not kiss a girl, not fight a bad guy, not fire a shot, not make any audacious stunt to escape from any bad guy, not have sex without a condom, not smoke, not eat boiled eggs, not drive because he will not have passed his licence yet.

You sure this is a Bond movie ? I'm beginning to worry with these mixed signals...

Can't believe that someone actually beat you to it but Mi6 has revealed that the classic Aston Martid DB5 will return as Bond's personal car in Casino Royale that is big news. Here's a link.

Besides, this just feels wrong to me. I think after DAD, the filmmakers would avoid these self-conscious "winks" to old Bond films. Using the DB5 seems to contradict all that we know about Casino Royale being a fresh start. I don't know, my gut tells me this is bogus. And if it isn't, it's a big mistake, IMO.

I hope you're wrong on this one for two reasons. First, I always like to see Bond behind the wheel of the DB5. And secondly, it would, as you rightly suggest, be a step away from the reboot/restart nonsense; and that's a good thing in my book.

Bond should drive the DB5 as CR will be a modern adaption of the novel. Driving a 40 year old car would look rather silly.

Well, it looks like the DB5 is indeed in the movie...Bond wins it in a poker game!

It's all new...except for Judi Dench as M...and the Aston Martin DB5 because that's classic Bond...and the new Aston Martin DBS because, you know, we have to have a gee-wiz gadget car...and...

I don't have any problem with this. Just something fun to throw in there I think. Which game does he win it in though?

I wonder if it's possible they've been misinformed, and it's really the DBS that Bond wins in a poker game? That would make more sense to me, if there aren't going to be any scenes with Q in the film.

If this latest rumor is true, I can't say I like it. It just sounds hokey. And for some reason, I seem to have missed Bond's oh so memorable line after Q shows him his new car in Goldfinger: "What a coicidence Q, I won an Aston Martin DB5 in a card game just a little while ago, and now you give me one. What are the odds?"

This is another negative aspect about Casino Royale in my opinion. Everytime I start to get a little excited about the film, those behind the scenes pull me back in--to reality.

Ohhhh, this movie keeps getting weirder by the second. Why didn't they just remake the spoof? We could have had an Oceans 11-type movie.
