Thanks a lot Lady Rose! It's fantastic! Is there something more in the article about Sittaford Mystery? I've seen the Moving Finger lately and I wait to see By The Pricking... and Sittaford of course!

No.I'm afraid not. All that was said about Sittaford is what is written at the side of Tim's pic.

Oh, maybe...

I've forgotten, you can see another photo of Tim (from Sittaford) on my site Sittaford Mystery

Great picture, Rochester.

He still looks more like BOND to me than many other people I see around . . .

It was really only TV.com who said that it was going to be shown on the 16th, and they're a bit of a dodgy source, IMO.

ITV1 are showing the first part of The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant, starring Romola Garai and Sam Neill, on the 16th, with the second part showing on the 17th.

The Sittaford Mystery could be shown on the 23rd, though. You never know!

Ironic, is it not, RD, Darling, in light of the fact that DALTON beat out Neill for another role?

The Sittaford Mystery could be shown on the 23rd, though. You never know! :D

Does this mean I should reschedule my flight?

Yep, here's the QuickNews article: http://commanderbond...item&item=30374

Let's hope the date sticks this time. I'm interested to hear what people think of the show.

It's definitely the correct date this time, Qwerty.

I don't trust TV.com, though. It seems to me they just pluck a date out of thin air, and hope for the best!

A slight update on this.

They've split this story into two 60-minute parts, for some reason.

Part 1 is showing on the 30th of April, with Part 2 showing on the 1st of May.

Which tells me two things, my dear friend, ROYAL DALTON --

-- (the china company of whose my dinner service originates):

1. you have to set up your DVD home recording system; and,

2. I am moving in with you from the 29th April -- 1st May. (don't want to miss a minute here or there because of commercials or station breaks!)

Well, ignore my earlier post. It's being shown on one night after all. The Radio Times got their schedules mixed up somehow!

This is the correct date and time, as before:

ITV1, Sunday 30th April, 9:00pm - 11:00pm. [censored]

I lost interest after he was murdered. At one point he's having a conversation with Churchill. Lots of pinstripe suit business going on though.

Well, I thought TD was great in it. He pretty much dominated the episode. Even after he was bumped off, he kept popping up every few minutes! :D

The plot started to lose its way a bit after the murder, but it wasn't too bad on the whole.

Apparently, the murderer in this was a different person to the one in the book! :D

The worst point for me was when even Trevelyan himself sat behind the table, talking to dead... it was rather strange, because the point was Trevelyan was far away from other characters and the weather was really bad, so who could do such a long distance to be behind the table and also to get to the far away place where Trevelyan was - to kill him of course.

ps. Sittaford Mystery gets DVD release on 17th July 2006.

I saw the episode last Sunday night where Timothy Dalton played an ambitious politician, and possible future Prime Minister, named Trevalyean (sp?) He was definitely good, and did not look 60 years old. However, the story was kind of weak and unclear, and full of English post war stereotypes: the bossy mother, the mousey daughter, a young lady with a very affected attitude and accent, and a young wastrel.

On the plus side were some great snow bound scenes of the hotel that were Kubrikesque, with a mood like the movie The Shining. Dalton could just show up on the set and say nothing and upstage just about everyone. And when he talked it was often in a murmer, that like Johnny Cash, reminds me of rumbling thunder. Unfortunately, he wasn't in the show nearly enough, but he was part of an ensemble which shows he doesn't have some kind of "star" attitude.
