Or: 'Seems he had a sunstroke.'
Oh, forgot, this is going to be the gritty one. My mistake.

I wonder if they'll ask him to sing the title song too, I think it's about time for another male voice.

I would like Seal very much as a secondary villain, someone with his own piece of the pie. He's got the look and I haven't seen him act but I think he'll be more professional than Putter Smith!
By secondary villain, I mean like a General Orlov or a Dr. Kauffman; someone with his own thing going, not really a henchman like Goldie or Mr. Kil.
If they cast a white villain and Seal as a henchman, that's the third movie in a row where they've done that: Gabor, Mr. Kil, then Seal? It all looks the same if they do that.

Sorry, I thought I said. I meant the white villain with the big black henchman standing beside him. Gabor and Mr. Kil were virtually indistinguishable in that role.If they cast a white villain and Seal as a henchman, that's the third movie in a row where they've done that: Gabor, Mr. Kil, then Seal? It seems like a very typical bit of Bond casting to me, part of what the series does; have a non-actor if they have something to offer physically to the part of a henchman.
Harold Sakata or Geoffrey Holder or Putter Smith or Grace Jones: its part of the character of the series and the rich tapestry of the Bond tradition.
I agree, and I like the idea of SEAl as a Henchman, I always liked him as a singer, and I think he has excelente presence...
Regards.

As has been asked, can he act? I don't know, but he does have a great face for a villain role. However, I wonder how big a part he will really have. I doubt that he will be one of Le Chiffre's main henchmen, after all the story says his character is a money launderer. My guess is he's a middle man between Le Chiffre and Le Chiffre's employers and is likely the one who first becomes aware of Le Chiffre's money troubles and passes it on to his bosses.
By the way, if Seal is cast in the movie, is there any chance that Heidi Klum could get a part as a secondary Bond girl too?

Le Chiffre and Solari working together would be great.

ooooh-kay, ya got me. But my point is still the same.Ya... I believe Lawrence Makoare (Mr. Kill) is Samoan/Polynesian.Except that Mr. Kil wasn't black.Sorry, I thought I said. *Sigh* Sounds a bit showbiz backslappy to me - why not get, y'know, an actor for the role? What next? Jamie Oliver as Tanner? Ellen MacArthur as Loelia Ponsonby? Reminds me of the casting of Goldie in THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH - and he gave a lousy performance.
In a characteristic piece of ideas-recycling from Eon, it seems they've knocked the final "s" off the original name for the Icarus weapon from DIE ANOTHER DAY, et voila - a henchman's name.
Might not be that bad, Loom. Goldie was clearly there just for padding and the benefit his name brought to the cast for appeal to younger elements: you know, that old sod Brozza couldn't appeal to
IF Seal is given a PROPER role - as in something to do with the story - unlike the gratuitous addition of Goldie - it could work out.
Well, granted. In theory, Seal could knock it outta the park. Perhaps the role is fantastic, and perhaps he's got some amazing acting talent and could be a menacing hench, and so on and so forth.
But this is hardly the sort of news that fills me with confidence. (Hey, someone as pro-Craig/pro-CR as me has got to gripe about something. ) I just can't help thinking that (if true) this will be robbing a decent actor of the role. I mean, pretend you're Barbara Broccoli or Martin Campbell or Debbie McWilliams or Michael G. Wilson, and someone says to you:
"About Solari - there's someone I think'd be terrific for the part: Seal."
Well, I very much doubt that you'd go: "Yeah? Cool. Case closed. Who shall we get for Tanner, then?" No, you'd look around for actors like Chiwetel Ejiofor or Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Wombosi in THE BOURNE IDENTITY), or someone who'd, y'know, impressed you in a film or a play or in something on TV.
Plumping for Seal just seems a bit lazy. "Oh, let's just get a celeb, a pop singer or something." Doesn't really fill me with much confidence in the role or the script, come to that.

Holy Crap!
Never again will I consider the character of Ivan Drago in ROCKY IV absurdly unrealistic.

This is from a recent interview with German magazine "Stern":
Q: You were rumoured to play a bad guy in the latest Bond movie?
A:Bond producer Barbara Broccoli is a big fan of mine, she had the idea. I even auditioned for it, but the role, well, it was a bit too much of a cliche, so I decided not to go into acting for it
