I got that same pic but with Daniel Craig having darker hair but I believe it is the shadow:

guys, the pic of Craig with the lighter hair is a edited version I did a while back to make his hair closer to the ACTUAL colour (without the dark shadow)

the pic above is the actual one... not my edited (imo, closer to reality) version.

I think the beard looks good on him. He should keep it for CR.

I think he looks fine that way as well. It's nice to see a James Bond that isn't doesn't look like a male model (not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just nice for a change every once in a while).

I reckon they'll probably give him a slightly darker rinse. Similar to how he looked in Sword of Honour, perhaps. But nothing too extreme.

I actually think thats just how he should look.

Looks good to me. I could live with that.

His complexion is too fair for him to have black hair. Would look too anemic.

That picture looks perfectly fine to me as well. If he looks like that in Casino Royale, then I'll be perfectly satisified. However, if he has blonde hair, that won't bother me either.

Ultimately, I think they will dye his hair. When they did that promotional shot, I assume that that was taken around the time that he was in London preparing for the press conference. During that time, he was still filming a film in Baltimore with Nicole Kidman where he was blonde, so I think that he couldn't dye his hair at that point, which is why it is darkened by the shadows. If they weren't going to dye it, would they have gone through the trouble of putting him in so much shadow that it made his hair look darker if they weren't eventually going to go for that look?

They should have cast Billy Idol as James Bond.

Just kidding. He is blond, bleach (funny he never lost all his hairs over the years)

Dye the hair, please, Mr Craig. You did it for Ted Hughes, so why not for 007?

I'm really trying to come to terms that this is the new Bond but to ease my concerns somewhat, I personally would accept a mild brown tint similiar to Moore's shade. It doesn't have to be stone black like Brozzy's or Dalton's just don't leave it blond.

That's the most Bondian snapshot I've ever seen from Craig.
