The "shoes" scene of Thunderball...
...Dr No, but in black and white...
...the first hour of Moonraker, because it entertains me and always has...

In all honesty, for pure Bond comfort food it's more likely to be one of the books, but I can't say I'd reject any of the above, if on.

I like all the space stuff in Moonraker. The scenes of the shuttle launching into space are awe inspiring, and I love the lazer battle between the military and Drax's men. The icing on the cake is the score by John Barry. The music he provides for these sequences add so much, and it's by far my favourite of the James Bond soundtracks.
I own a copy of it on CD, but my one critiscm is the placing of the songs. The music should appear on the CD in the order it appears in the film.
As a whole, the music doesn't flow together well on the CD.

Tomorrow Never Dies was the one that started it all for me, so that's certainly one to reach for.

TSWLM - special comfort is the precredits, usually get hooked on it. Also: "sillouhette" shot in doorway before entering Fekesh's house.

Is there a Bond scene or film that is your James Bond "comfort food"?

View Post

It's hard to specify one because there are so many good ones to chose from. Moonraker brings me pleasure whenever I watch it, probably because it was the first Bond film I ever saw in the cinema. The warm memory of that adds to the viewing experience along with the feeling of "how could anyone hate such a fun escapist movie?."

Scenes:

For some reason, I really like the scene where Bond alias "Peter Franks" meets Tiffany in her Amsterdam apartment in Diamonds Are Forever. The pretitle sequences from Thunderball, Goldfinger, The Living Daylights and Octopussy are all enjoyable "comfort food" to me as well.

And I thought I was the only one who run to Bond flicks after life got me down! :)
LTK is my first choice, but I agree with many of you, tmost of the pre title sequences give me a lift! :) Octopussy and Goldeneye are also great to distarct me form the blues.
Really enjoy to pre title to Goldeneye when Judy Dench is introduced and Moneypenny gives Bond the business!

Totally forgot about that one, but yes, a fantastic scene.
