Today marks CBn's 5th Anniversary. It was 5 years ago today, that I registered the domain "commanderbond.net".
This week, we have some great new features and additions to the site to help celebrate this. To start off with, there's 'The History of CBn'.[/ibox]

Beautiful! What a story, Dave.
I'd like to congratulate the CBn Team on this anniversary - you guys are the best!
Three cheers for CBn!

The site is so good that it is easy to forget the tremendous amount of (unpaid) work that goes into it. Thanks a lot for everything.
Here's hoping that one day one of the Bond crew (actors, writers and producers) will recognise just what a boon CBn is to Bond fans and give us an exclusive interview. Spread the word, Mr Higson!
Nobody does it better.

Like the lovely Joyce, I really did have a lump in my throat reading your enthusiastic yet noble words, Dave.
CBn has definitely become a second home to me ( I'd better move my dirty laundry from Mister Astrix's desk ) and has helped me get through some very awkward and upsetting stages of my life. ( whilst chatting about Bond as well, of course ).
I cannot believe that I've been a member since August 2001, so I'll be celebrating 4 years of CBn next month ( together with JB&B's first anniversary ).
You can certainly be proud of how far CBn has come, and the hard work has certainly paid off. What with a solid foundation ( yourself, Mister Asterix and Greg ) a stellar and committed moderating team ( too many to list ) and loyal and intelligent regular posters, CBn is a online community that will always stay at the top of it's league.
All the best,
Cheers,
Ian

Congrats guys! Maybe Bond #6 will be announced on your auspicious date.
Good grief! Don't tell me I was correct with that Croation radio supposedly leaking out that Goran is the next Bond! Please anyone but Goran. I don't want that news to be connected with Cbn's anniversity.

Great story Dave. I'm glad no steel toothed giant, bowler throwing Korean, pool full of sharks, or pack of MGM lawyers can keep CBn down.
Maybe if the sharks were the kind with frickin' lasers on their heads...? (Ssshhhhh, don't give them stupid ideas )
Great story, Dave.
To qoute Jaws in MR: "Here's to us."

I discovered this site in the spring 2001 and stopped by daily for news but I didn't join the forums till 2003.I can't imagine going anywhere else for Bond chat. Yay, CBN.

Although it is the combination of each member's effort to have made it what it has become, to a greater or lesser extent but an extent nonetheless, particular recognition to Dave who has put up with - and continues to put up with - an extraordinary amount.
Dave's Mum's bank seem worth thanking, too. Hooray for bank managers!

Here's to ya, guys (including the Team members past and present, Forum members, and Dave's Mum and Dad).
God, those pictures of the former designs sure bring back memories. Now I feel old.

In the grand scheme of things, 5 years may not seem like a lot, but in cyberspace it is a monumental milestone.
The one thing that surprised me was the relative lack of donors. Years ago I made a donation after receiving an email from CBn. I figured, yeah, I use the site and I want it to continue, so I made a donation. I believe anyone who is at least a regular on the boards might consider ponying up something. I'm sure every bit helps. These things do cost money.
But I'll admit this much, after seeing there has only been 22 donors all this time, I don't feel quite as guilty for not donating lately.
