If conjecture is right, CR will be set only in South Africa.

I do miss real locations in the recent Bond films. Substituted locations always somehow feel fake.

Name 3 locations you would like to see Bond visit. Try cities or environs that are maybe original (to the films) and fit in a rough geographical area. Assume London is included.

Here goes:

1) Kenya - a safari sequence
2) Stockholm, Sweden
3) Brussels, Belgium

Great choices - Easter Island is inspired!

Imagine Peter Lamont building it on the backlot!

Thank you. :) I'd love (and have wanted it for a long time) for Easter Island to feature in a Bond film.

Kenya and Stockholm could both be fantastic. Brussels, I'm not so sure about. I live in Brussels, and love it - but it's not a city that immediately reveals its charms, or is especially cinematic. That said, they've respruced the Atomium recently, and a fight atop that could be quite good.

Puerto Banus, in the south of Spain, would be a great place for Bond to meet a vulgar, flashy villain. There's a boutique right on the waterfront called 007 - Bond could buy a pair of swimming trunks there while winking at the camera and thumbing through an old book about birds in the West Indies. :)

Hmmm... the Asian cities I've been to seems good enough.

1. Dubai in the UAE
2. Singapore
3. Manila in the Philippines

Love his globetrotting, but I'd like to see him actually visit someplace that has a British interest. Someplace that was or still is in the British Empire. We're going to South Africa already, been to India and the Carribbean...

Austrailia - love to see underwater scenes at the Great Barrier Reef

Ireland - don't have to go far for beauty, or the IRA

The Falkland Islands - surely there's a bitter Argentinian there somewhere

My personal favorites based on an outline I did had four "globe-hopping" locales, that thus far, we have yet to see in the films.

Bermuda (pre-credits)

Dublin

Maui

Buenos Aries

I wanted Bond "all over the world"

Cool thread. I like the notions of Easter Island and Antartica as well.

Yeah, enough of the back lot. Get back to the lush and luxurious loacales that made you want to visit a place, not just because Bond had been there, but because it looked so cool you'd want to check it out.

Using Stockholm as a location would be a great idea IMO (I'm from Sweden myself).

According to Casino Royale, Bond gained his 00-number after killing a Norwegian double agent in Stockholm. A Norwegian? - he deserved it :)

That brings up a good point, at least for me, Mr. Wint. You said that According to CR, Bond gained his 00-status after killing a Norwegian double agent (no, not the former 007, this isn't an "Promotion by Assassination" story) :) in Stockholm. Okay, does that mean that ALL 00's have to kill a double agent to receive a "Licence to Kill" or what? Forgive the ignorance. Just curious. They don't really touch on it in the movies

I re-checked it. Bond killed a Japanese in New York and a Norwegian double agent in Stockholm.

"Bond gained his 00-status after killing a Norwegian double agent (no, not the former 007..."

Maybe I misunderstand you, but why on earth would it be the former 007?

Double Agent: A spy working for two rival countries. Not the same as a Double-Oh-Agent.

Sorry, it was a joke, Mr. Wint. Read the part after it. In the Star Trek Canon, the Klingons, and a few other races believe in getting promoted by killing their senior officers. Hmmm, Bryce 003 (bang!) you're dead! Mwahahaha! I am a Commander now!

Well, from NATO HQ to the Grand Place to a car chase on the ring road to a machine gun assault on the exterior of the Atonium (good idea SNF - maybe a PTS) - Bond would be BACK in Brussels (imagine the British press take that news!).

Raymond Benson had Bond in Brussels in High Time To Kill.

Besides, the women are lekker!

OK, try these:

1) Copenhagen
2) Munich
3) Athens

An 00 is assigned to an agent who is "licensed to kill" by being given an assasination assignment. That is, you're elevated to double-0 in order to receive such an assignment.

1)Anywhere in Australia, as it hasn't been done before. Not convinced it has to be Sydney or one of the major cities, though.

2)I like the Prague notion. Hasn't been done before in a Bond film and the place looked great for Spy activity in Mission Impossible.

3)Venezuela. Bond in deep jungle somewhere, facing problems of the kind that he had during O.P. It's been too long since 007 had to face enemies that are animals.

I've read some very interesting options here. :) Good work!
Here's my list:

1- Seychelles (Excellent choice, Pieffra!!)
2- Nepal
3- Jamaica (we have GOT to bring 007 back to his roots..)

I can't come up with a quick storyline that would connect these three places, but they are definitely all well worth traveling to..
