The Persuaders! has a writer, according to Empire, the interesting thing was, it says nobody's been cast... :)

I don't disagree that a remake probably wouldn't work. But a chance to see Roger on the screen again would be a treat. After all, I was one of those who liked Boat Trip. :P

Well, I didn't really like "Boat Trip" which was not the best Roger Moore's post-Bond movie :)

I'm certainly not convinced by a cameo of Roger Moore in this Persuaders! remake. And not sure at all he'll do one.

Does anyone think this remake would be better with a cameo of Roger Moore ?

If Roger & Tony make cameos, I'll see the film.

Is it just me, or is Stiller replacing Curtis far worse casting than Denise Richards as a nuclear scientist?

I saw the episode the other day where Sinclair had a massive tent with a fridge and a gas-powered stove. He said "I must amdit; I rather enjoy roughing it". It was great. :cooltongue:

Even though I really don't want this film to be made, I do think it would be cool to see Roger and Tony do a cameo for it. Although, according to the press, Tony Curtis is in rough shape and in the hospital at present. Hopefully he pulls through.

I think that the producers - if it ever gets made - could do a lot worse than asking Matthew McConaughey and James Purefoy as Danny and Brett. Both fit the bill and after seeing Purefoy in Rome he has proved that he can act as well.

actually the persuaders is the only project in which i really didnt like roger very much. perhaps it is a seventies thing but i disliked the long hair and him keep adjujusting his hair. also he played a bit of a sissy and tong curtis (who i dont like either) was supposed to be tougher.

here i think hugh grant plays an be roger moore

Hard to believe this one hasn't been picked up for film yet. Or has it...any news? Great show!

There was news a few years ago that DreamWorks picked it up but I've heard nothing about the project since.

Drat, now you've got me thinking who in the world we could cast: Robert Downey in the Curtis role and...Hugh Grant as Lord Sinclair?

I doubt a Persuaders movie would be much cop. I think it's one of those things which wouldn't work outside the context of its era.

Hmmm? I don't know. I could see it working, although they would have to update the look, the basic plot could be updated. Would make an interesting flic if they had a good script IMO.

Man, I hope a Persuaders movie brings back those Mod Neo-Edwardian fashions! Four pocket suits, safari jackets, scarfs-as-neckties, eye-gouging lapels, white belts, and multi-colored ascots. 1971 will LIVE again!!! Besides, movies are supposed to influence fashion, though they haven't lately...

Without wishing to mitigate the power of your words, could not the above be equally applied to Every Single Other movie / TV program / theatrical production that had a nominal history of some form or other?
