That depends on what kind of remake this is going to be. If it's like The Avengers or The Saint then the cars will be updated but if it's like Starsky & Hutch then it will be a period piece with the original cars.Would they also update the cars, both the Aston Martin DBS and the Ferrari Dino to their modern counterparts.

However, if there is a Persuaders movie, maybe it will encourage A&E to fix the sound on those overly-expensive DVD sets.

I just can't see how this is going to be any good. How can any body replace Roger and Tony? In my opinion the chemistry they had was unique and could never be replaced.
If anyone should be cast it should be Huge Grant and Vince Vaughan just to soften the blow but at best i think all we can hopr for is an avarage movie.

And now they want to turn it into a movie. Steve Coogan, who is a big Persuaders fan, has acquired the rights to the show and is planning to make it into a feature length film. Coogan, of course will be playing Brett Sinclair, while none other than Ben Stiller will be Danny Wilde.
Although I was very excited to hear they were doing a movie version of one of my favorite tv shows ever, I can't see Coogan and Wilde replacing Moore and Curtis.
What do you all think?

I've heard the news about a new movie also.
Ben Stiller and Steve Coogan as Wilde and Sinclair are even worst than Daniel Craig as Bond!
If it was up to me:
Sir Brett Sinclair: Pierce Brosnan
Danny Wilde: George Clooney
Directed by: Steven Soderbergh

Who knows Coogan, except in UK ? I never heard of him before. I can hardly imagine him in the footsteps of Roger Moore or filling his shoes for the role. Lord Brett Sinclair was tailor-made for Roger Moore.

According to the IMDB, it's still in development. I'm hoping it's dead.Does anybody know the status of this film?

Been looking for things on it for ages but as far as I know (going by imdb) its not started shooting yet.
Sort of looking forward to it, but I'm such a huge fan of the original show...maybe I should just look at it as a VERY different entity.

EDIT: I thought it was coming as a TV show but I've just checked imdb and maybe I was wrong...I don't think it'd be as good as a movie. Still, chance for Curtis and Moore to make a cameo!

David Dorfman has been hired to write the action comedy, The Persuaders for Hyde Park Entertainment.
The show is based on the 1970's British TV series that starred Tony Curtis and Roger Moore; it revolves around the adventures of two rich playboys who mingle in exotic locales, romance women and right wrongs along the way. Curtis' character was a street-smart entrepreneur from the Bronx; Moore played a stuffy English lord, notes Variety.
There's no production schedule as of yet for The Persuaders.

Even a cameo of both the original characters won't save this remake from disaster !

I know there are US, UK, French, German, and Japanese versions of the series on DVD. Do a search online and you should be able to track down a set.Anyone knows if the original series are released on DVD?
