The Three Bondalleros met with Lana Wood on May 14th in Gaithersburg, MD. They were informed about the upcoming "Hollywood Collectors Show" in Burbank on July 30th and 31st.

Wow this one is going to be amazing. The Hollywood Collector's Shows are always entertaining to say the least. If in fact Roger Moore does come it would be a dream come true!!! Looks like the LA CBners have another excuse to get together! (Not that we need one)

Thanks for the info but I'll be fishing near Virginia Beach that week. But like I said I'm envious of those who are on the west coast. Enjoy.

PAST ATTENDEES: How is the selection of memorabilia for sale, specifically Bond? Worth a trip from the East to attend????

Hi trs007, I made the trip from Maryland last year (see details here), and while I had a great time with the celebs, and meeting the CBn West Coast Crew, I have to admit I was disappointed with the dealers.

While some did have 007 items, most of it was common stuff (Sideshow figures, Corgi toys, 007 magazine, stills you've seen 100 times before, etc.)

The unfortunate thing too - there were a number of dealers who were very disorganized and had mounds of pressbooks and/or slides and stills to go through. I suppose if I had taken the time to wade through EVERYTHING I might have found a jem or two (and I think Zencat did find a cool drive in flyer that advertised TSWLM & Star Wars & Rocky) - I just didn't have the time to look at 8000 slides of failed WB and UPN shows before I found something Bond related.

I suppose Zencat would be a better person to ask - since he has been to a few of them.

I've only been to the one. My hope is that with a bunch of Bond girls & Lazenby there - that dealers would make an effort to go through their Bond stuff and bring it.

What specifically do you collect?

I'm pretty open to all aspects of Bond but I tend to lean toward foreign posters, some toys, books, magazines, and other unique items of interest. It's not so much what I'd head out looking for, but rather, the potential for surprises once there. I did do the Creation COn in LA in 1994 and Spyfest in 2003, so even just getting to LA again, and the possibility of meeting some of the LA crew would make it a fun extended weekend.

I would like to apologize to anyone and everyone for the information I posted a week ago. I had interviewed Ms. Lana Wood and was told that Roger Moore 'might' be attending the Ray Courts Hollywood Collectors Show in Burbank, CA in late July.

I emailed Mr. Court himself and got this reply:

Stuart,

Sir Roger Moore will not be attending our July 30th & 31st Show. The only 'James Bond' that will be attending our upcoming Show is George Lazenby. In addition to Mr. Lazenby, we hope to have between 10 to 12 Bond girls at this Show. At this time, we do have 8 Bond girls already confirmed.

Unfortunately I will not be attending but will be with my family at Virginia Beach. I am however, very envious. Still, I am wondering who the other 4 Bond girls Ray Court is planning to have in attendence?

I would imagine the usual suspects: Caroline Munro, Lois Chiles, Kristina Wayborn, Serena Scott Thomas, etc.

They've all done numerous shows (Thomas and Wayborn were there last year as well)

Doesn't matter to me. I'll probably be there both days. But are they both going to feature everyone? Or just some one day and the others on the second day? Does anyone know of a schedule? I'd like to know before I beging taking days off work.

And did anyone see that pic of Blanche Ravalec of MR? Damn, she looks 10 times better these days than she did then.

My cousins live in Burbank, but nobody on this planet hates James Bond more than them.

I also live in the L.A. area, but don't know if I can go. Probably can't.
