Do you like the idea of the new game to be based on From Russia With Love or would you have prefered another Connery James Bond film?

I chose Goldfinger.

My 5,007th post!

Dr. No. It's the first film, why not start the games with the first?

No, I'm fine with what EON is doing with "From Russia with Love". Might as well start off with the best Connery Bond film first.

Though they could've started off with "Dr. No", though it would have looked a little low-key like the movie. Though EON could expand a few locations and features, in the end the game wouldn't have the spirit of the film.

Seems to me a good choice. It's arguably Connery's best Bond film, so why not make it into a game. It also has quite a few good scenes, mainly the Gypsy Camp gun fight, and the speedboat chase. All good things to put into a video game.

Well I'm sure we can expect similar "expansions" for From Russia With Love here all the same.

The rumour that the man standing by the train in From Russia With Love was Ian Fleming. It's not.

Well hopefully the game won't stray off or expand that much, I just don't want the game to go to a different relm, just pay homage to the film without over-doing it.

Who knows. From Russia With Love is basically as low-key as Dr. No is.

Naturally, my original post was based on yours that Dr. No would have looked as low-key as the movie.

From Russia is nice. it seems that the jet pack will play a big part in the movie. If they wanted to use the jet pack, then why don't they chose Thunderball ? Also TB may be more adequate than FRWL for a game adaptation.

well, we ll be fixed when ll have more information.

I never asumed that the EA video game would be a strict adaption of the film or the novel. I presume that some original set pieces will be added to the game to make the story more interesting or exciting for game purposes.

Maybe they felt that FRWL had more potential as a video game?

In the Game Informer article, they say that they chose FRWL, but also want elements from other Connery movies to be incorporated. So it's not just Thunderball they're borrowing from.

Looks like From Russia With Love is the clear winner here. Nice to at least see Thunderball (my favorite Connery) up there in second.

It really doesn't matter to me, although I would prefer EA Games start with Dr. No as a video game. I'm only happy as long as they do OHMSS after this one. :)

They may do another Connery if they've got him currently for this one.

I guess I'm ok with this, but I would have rather seen a more action packed Bond film be adapted for a video game. Thunderball would have been perfect followed by YOLT, OHMSS, and finally a reworked DAF like it should have been done (revenge more so than just "another adventure").

I've asked around, and most people think the PSP game will most likely be FRWL. Whether they're right or not remains to be seen, but I'm thinking they're most likely on the money.
