My picks are in the following order:

BEST- Against Grant in the train. "From Russia With Love" (Also my pick for THE greatest Bond movie ever)

Number 2- Against the man in the elevator in "Diamonds are forever" (One of the worst Bond movies otherwise)

Number 3- Against Oddjobs inside Fort Knox. "Goldfinger" (One of the best 007 movies, in my book)

OK, I was bored when I posted this thread. But what are your picks anyway?

My favorites just off the top of my head. I like 'em all. :)

FRWL - The train - 'nuff said.

GF - Pre credits in the dancer's dressing room. Shocking.

GF - Oddjob vs. 007 in Fort Knox

TB - Teaser fight with the "merry widow"

YOLT - Osato's Office.

OHMSS - Thug in Tracy's room.

DAF - Elevator fight.

TSWLM - Rooftop against Sandor

OP - Fight with Kamal's goons in Octopussy's bedroom.

GE - Spy vs. Spy - 006 & 007 in the radar dish.

DAD - Zao & 007 in the clinic.

:)

Three of my favorites - the train in FRWL, the "shocking" pre-title in GF, and the elevator in DAF, have already been mentioned.

Another which I think deserves attention is the fight on the beach in the pre-title of OHMSS....

The other one which I really like--even though it's an odd one because it doesn't include Bond!--is the fight between Necros and the agent in the kitchen at the safehouse in TLD.

That is a favorite of mine too.

I also really like the fight on the top of the Golden Gate bridge, sure its short but the music and visuals are really great.

Are we excluded from including man vs. women fights? Wai Lin kicked some serious butt in TND.

My top 3 are:

1. Bond vs. Grant in FRWL -- may never be topped, but I'd rather have them try than to have another explosion.
2. Bond vs. Trevelyan in GE -- maybe the defining moment of the Brosnan era for me. I'm so glad they opted for a duke it out style rather than a small confrontation where Bond just kills him.
3. Tie - Bond vs. Franks in DAF and Bond vs. Boitier in TB -- innovative and

I also really like the fights with Hans and the big guy in YOLT; Lazenby's precredits and bell room fights in OHMSS; Moore against the 3 baddies in TMWTGG; Moore against the thugs in Octopussy's bedroom; the Bladens guy against Necros (good mention, Licensed Troubleshooter) and Dalton against Necros in the plane.

I'll be a little controversial on the Bond-Oddjob thing because I really don't consider it a fight. It's Oddjob kicking the crap out of Bond and not much of a fight since it's so one-sided. Yeah, Bond wins, but he didn't win the actual fight.

Some favorites include:

From Russia With Love - Train. Without a doubt

Goldfinger - Against Oddjob

Thunderball - The fight with Jacques Boiter

The Spy Who Loved Me - Rooftop against Sandor

Moonraker - In Glass museum with Chang

GoldenEye - 007 against 006

Grant on the train is a given - great scene, as was the fight with Oddjob in Fort Knox. Trevelyan on the dish is my favourite from the recent Bonds. I'm also quite partial to the studio fight in TND - not particulary exciting, but stylish and Bond came out looking quite cool.

Yes, the Trevelyan fight is one of my favorite ones. Well-directed, no music, just loud punches, grunts. It's one of the unique ones to be filmed, reminiscent of FRWL.

GoldenEye's fight sequence between James Bond and Alec Trevelyan on the satilite dish easily comes in first place for me. The directors of GoldenEye even said that part of the fight scene was inspired by the train tussle in From Russia With Love. However, I prefer the fight scene from GoldenEye because fighting on a satilite dish suspended above the air has a much more dangerous edge than fighting on a moving train. Although both fight scenes, I must say, are spectacular with action. :)

The GoldenEye fight between Bond and Trevelyan is one of the best. I liked every part of it. Of course, it's impossible not to mention the train fight in FRWL.

I wish the end fight with Renard in TWINE had been done better. It had some potential there...two enemies, in a submarine that was flipped around, water filling the bottom...and yet it wasn't that great.

I like he Bond/jeep driver confrontation in The Living Daylights precredits. Bond is pissed off that 2 of his fellow agents have been killed and he'll do anything to get that driver. He's not getting off that jeep no matter what. The headbutt. The kick in the head. The payoff at the end.

That's not "man-to-man." :) But I'm kidding. I really should have said "one-on-one." My bad.

(But try to limit the picks to the fight scenes of Bond vs ONE other person.)

I'm not sure I agree. As well done the GE dish fight was, the train fight could have happened in the real world, therefore more thrilling.

So I take it you prefer the fights in which Bond is involved rather than say the fight in the kitchen in The Living Daylights or Wai Lin going all kung fu in Tomorrow Never Dies
