My brother just moved to New Jersey and now that I find myself suddenly single I just might be able to swing it. I'll have to see if the funds are left after setting up the exact replica of 009's flat. Oh wait, it is 009's flat.

Anyway...I think that BCW is probably doable provided I haven't started a 30 city tailgating tour with Freedom Grill by that point. Previous ones have been quite fun. Must remember to take more vitamin B this time.

As for Flicka's climbing skills, my bet is on the torch at the Statue of Liberty or somewhere near the Empire State Building. If dinner is on Bryce then we must eat at Jean George's in Trump International. Oh for the dot com days.

Heh-heh-heh...

Air Fare - DONE!

Limo to airport - DONE!

Restaurants? - Scoping out a few. Some really great Jazz clubs in Tribeca and near the Battery.

Shopping? Both Dunhill and a few cigar shops are on the list. Flicka has been checking the spa options for the ladies.

Just need the hotel and registration info now.

Paging Matt Sherman....

Checking the dates with the "soon to be former Mrs. 009" to make sure that my 009 1/2s are well taken care of that weekend but it looks like this will make for a fine first solo mission in 11 years.

M "009, we need you in New York. I understand you'll be doing this mission solo. Pity about your partner. Too bad she turned out to be a double agent. We'll send 005 after her."

009 "Understand sir. Just checking the dates. Might have an overlapping mission that weekend but so far it looks clear"

M "That fitness regimin you've been on should pay off well for you. See Q about getting a few new suits tailored with the usual equipment."

Looks like a great trip and reasonably priced. Just have to look into the hotel situation though solo, I am much easier to please. (When it comes to rooms that is)

Bryce, got any muses you can spare for the weekend? :) For some reason there aren't a lot of single women on these trips and we already know that the other 009 won't be there. :) Pity, love to meet my European, female counterpart one day. Maybe on their trip to TJ, the trio will stop by...

It's a shame the flights are so expensive at that time :) Otherwise I could have probably made it.

Will there also be a 10 hour "Death March" this year? NY in August would be ideal for a walking tour of all of Manhattan.

Okay, that's more like it! Three star, good reviews, and it seems to be the preferred hotel of the New York Toy Fair crowd. That's sounds right.

Matt is working on a major celeb (he ticked off a few names and any one of those people would make this a "must attend" event) and a lower price is very good news, especially for those considering a transatlantic hop.

Okay. I'm getting excited all over again. :)

It certainly is a chance of a lifetime, and everyone who can make it SHOULD go. Unfortunately, we just haven't got enough money to attend at this time. :)

Carol and I were hoping to get married this year, but it look like we're going to have to temporarily postpone it. So the free 'hookers' would of been of an advantage. :)

I can remember staying in the 'Ramada Hotel' and I had to insist that they moved me higher because of annoying 'water bug's. When I complained to the 'Janitor', he replied "that's extra man!". :)

Cheers,

Ian

I just hope that we can get a really cool signature gift and the party is hosted or there is a reasonable charge so we aren't all looking for the nearest liquor store. It certainly has potential to be a really fun time.

"be careful of what you wish for..."

After some initial debate given the hotel screw-up, we're in. Won't be at the hotel, but there for the week.

Just need to double check the fees with Matt.

Now...About those theater tickets....

If you like 007 karma, at least a passing visit to the Warwick Hotel should be in order. I think it's on 54th and 5th or 6th (been a while). This is where Cubby and Dana stayed and where the inspiration for Warwick Films came from. I've stayed there many times. Can't say what the rate is at the time of your convention, but there is at least a nice Italian restaurant in the lobby and a bar (what used to be a cigar bar before the city nixed public smoking). I know things like accomodations and itinerary have been worked out, but if coming from as far as 3,000 miles, you might as well at least drive by.

Ok, we finally have the full CORRECT details of the BCW8. Please take a look at the main page story and check out all the cool things that are in store for the event. Geoffrey Holder (Baron Samedi, Live And Let Die) is a special guest too!

Sounds like this thing has shaped up pretty well.

Meeting up with my crew this weekend for a little "kick off the summer" BBQ to go over logistics, but it should be good. As there's seven of us and we're making it a week long trip, we won't be at the hotel, but certainly will be there for all the festivities and the requisite amount of debauchery.

Flicka's found a lovely spa for the ladies and is studying blueprints of the Empire State Building for her "tactical assault" of the structure. She's been practicing too. Damn nearly had to pull her off the Palms last time we were in Vegas.

We're going for our fourth year of "highest bar tab" and if we end up in the pool again...well...so be it.

Miss Bellucci is already looking at gowns and dresses and the gents are narrowing the search for a proper steak house.

Should be fun and certainly a lot better than the initial plan/hotel debacle.

Baron Samedi himself eh? Cool. I want to hear that laugh. :)

That's the maniacal laugh I've heard echoing from the canyon...

and I'm on the west side. :)

...Maybe Zencat's been working a little too hard.

Well, if he doesn't have it down pat by the BCW, maybe Geoffrey can give him a few pointers...or at least a hat with feathers and blood on it. :)

Indy WILL be attending BCW8 in New York....
at least I emailed in my reservation a few minutes ago.
I got jilted out of the Bond Room so I am not going to miss this!

Who else will be arriving for the Thursday Sean Connery Birthday Bash?
