Well, at least BOURNE III is pretty much a dead cert. :)

But don't even think about doing it without John Powell! :)

View Post

A good call, Loomis! John Powell is nearly as vital to those films as Matt Damon. And I really don't think we need to worry about him being replaced - it seems to me that he has enjoyed working on these films, and if I remember correctly, his scores have become best-selling albums.

Looks like I also forgot about Evil Dead 4 (thanks for reminding me, Genrewriter!). What I find interesting is that Raimi plans to simultaneously produce a remake of the first Evil Dead (without Bruce Campbell, no less...). Personally, just gimme ED4, with Bruce back as Ash. And they better make it look cheesy and low-budget, like with the other ones, otherwise it just won't have the same feeling to it...

Yessir. I own both Bourne masterpieces. :)

I want Bourne 3.

I just got my Bourne Identity DVD in the mail to match Supremacy...I kinda liked the alternative ending...Bourne might have capped Abbot with the sniper's rifle had that been included..he would have known who to take out, anyway. :)

No, no, the meeting with Brian Cox sucked - it was like the ending of COMMANDO, all that tired old "So how about coming back to work for us, huh?" setting-up-a-sequel rubbish. What do you mean, "that crap song"? I hope you're not knocking "Extreme Ways".

I don't care for the song played on the alternative ending...yes, I guess it was a sequel setup thing...hey, movies are a business, no? :)

Maybe Landy will do the same in 3...

UPDATED LIST:

2nd and 3rd: Batman Begins I and II
Batman Begins is easily my favorite film of 2005 thus far, and I can't wait for its sequels.

3rd - The Bourne Ultimatum
This one better be darn good, and I have full confidence in the men behind this series.

5th - Superman Returns
This is shaping up to be very, very cool. Love the preproduction stuff.

2nd - The Legend of Zorro
I liked The Mask of Zorro, so I'm somewhat looking forward to this film. Should be decent escapist entertainment.

3rd - Kill Bill Sequel
May never happen, but if it does, I hope it kicks royal butt.

4th - The Hobbit
Come on, Peter Jackson. You know you need to utterly round out the Tolkien series... so do it!

3rd - Spider-man 3
Should be fun, as long as it continues the popcorn film greatness 2 had. I've never been fond of Spider-man as a whole, though, two simplistic and bright for me. I prefer brooding, heavily psychological heroes.

Reason for the removal of X-men 3: I have absolutely no confidence in this project after reading a script review and learning that Brett Ratner's directing. Ugh.

I'm getting quite tired of sequels. It seems as though studios are greenlighting sequels at the expense of more original movies that would probably be better than the sequels anyway.

2 - Batman Begins 2
3 - Rush Hour 3 (2006)

The Legend of Zorro-Maybe, but not real interested right now.
The Topkapi Affair-Never saw Thomas Crown Affair, so don't care.
Batman 2-Awsome, can't wait.
Rush Hour 3-Only saw the first one. It was alright, but I don't care to see its sequels.
The Bourne Ultimatum-Never saw the first two, so I don't care.
Spider-Man 3-Can't wait for this one, cause the first two are awsome.
Austin Powers 4-It will be interesting, and is needed for a final installment.
Superman Returns-It will be interesting, but we will have to wait and see what happens with this one.
Bride of Chucky 3-Never saw Bride, nor have I seen Seed. I don't care.
Halloween: Blood Line-They haven't made a good Halloween movie since #2 in 1981, so I don't care.

Yes I'm definitely down with a sequel to Batman Begins and I can't wait for Bourne Ultimatum.. As for others that I'd like to see:

True Lies 2: A good posibility that this might happen. I seriously doubt Schwarzenegger will be re-elected and I've heard he was keen on doing this film a while ago. It was postponed by 9/11 and when he became Gov. He really has not made a decent film since 1996's Eraser.

Die Hard 4.0: Yes I'd love to see another John McClane film. It's definitely happening. Bruce is back and I think its supposed to start filming in the fall.
Willis' last film, Hostage was a bit of a dissapointment for me.

Rush Hour 3: Its been postponed as Jackie Chan claims that Chris Tucker is demanding too much power and control over the film, and the studio isn't budging. Too bad.. I hope it gets going soon.

And I just read today on www.cinecon.com in an excerpt with Emilio Estevez, that John Hughes has an idea for " The Breakfast Club 2". Estevez says it's supposed to take place in college, with everyone in detention or whatever, but they've all become polar opposites of what they were in the original film. i.e. Bender is now the "straight laced one". Estevez says he's definitely in if the film gets the green light..

hmm.. while I'm skeptical about this one, it might be fun as well.

Casino Royale
Bond 22 to infinity
Indiana Jones 4
Die Hard 4
Batman 2
Bourne Ultimatum
Star Wars 7,8,9 - Just adapt Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy
Star Trek XI - I wish they'd use the Next Generation cast one last time, but that'd be difficult given the events of Nemesis

Still need to see Superman and Pirates, then I'll decided about 2,3

ROCKY BALBOA (2006, but probably not in the UK until 2007)

THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM (2007)

LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD (a title so ridiculous I have trouble typing it with a straight face; 2007)

RAMBO IV (2007)

BOND 22 (2008)

That's about it.

-Casino Royale (and Bond 22 onwards)
-Die Hard 4 (agree with Loomer; the official title sounds so flag-wavingly smug that it feels odd to say it)
-Indy 4 (when they stop buggering around with the script and just film the thing)
-The Dark Knight
-Sin City 2 (Angelina Jolie has apparently been cast as The Dame to Kill For, from the yarn of the same moniker. I know Loomis hated the first, but I liked it)

Talking of sequels, I gather from AICN that George Miller has been talking about MAD MAX 4 (again). Given that Gibson won't touch it with a bargepole (so they say), I think MAD MAX would be an excellent candidate for the remake treatment, and I'm rather surprised that they haven't done it already.

Remakes normally suck, of course, and making a new film on a par with the first two MAD MAXes would be a pretty tall order, but then again there's a lot that could be done with the character, who after years of being something of an early '80s VHS boom relic suddenly seems to fit the mood of the times in light of today's troubled world and the popularity of heroes hardened by loss like Batman, Bourne and (in CR) Bond. In the right hands, the Road Warrior could do very well (but please, please don't Americanise him - keep him Australian).
