Nice review Athena...and I'm impressed that you managed the same monumental task that I accomplished a couple of weeks back in getting through the entire set in one weekend.

Which of the 3 commentaries did you prefer.?..I thought the third one on "Vintage Steele" was the best, though the initial one on the pilot was informative (though there was a lot of silent parts)

Just a technical point. the Fox blurb at the end is something they send out with every press release they issue. Its pure self promotion on their part and does not usually become part of a product review.. :)

I've never been too info commentaries, so I'm not sure I want to choose one as my fave... yet... but I did think the Delorean info in License To Steele was interesting. :) As for the featurettes, I enjoyed both: "Remington And Laura, Bernice & Murphy featurette" and "Comedy & Old Movies featurette" the most. I was interesting to see where they felt the characters where coming from in the character profiles and the whole Pierce Brosnan = Carry Grant thing. I hate to give anything away... but like I said in the article, of one likes Brosnan and/or GoldenEye then they'll enjoy the dvds. :)

You mean the: "A recognized global industry leader, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is the marketing, sales and distribution company for all Fox film..." part? LOL... well, at least I made it mini-text.

I never really watched Steel back in the day, but I have to admit, it's a pretty decent show. I also really like how Fox packaged each disc in it's own clam shell with cover art. Good work all around. Part of the "Bond" collection to be sure. Looking forward to Season Two. Especially looking forward to the last season so we can see Pierce during the time he should have been playing Bond.

Right, that's the part :)

Yes, I was surprised at how thoroughly enjoyable I found the DVDs. When I was done with the Season 1 set I wanted to jump straight into Season 2.

Why is Brosnan referred to in the title of this thread as "He" rather than "he"?

Is the Church of Brosnology in session? :)

Any REWARD ZONE members of Best Buy can get the entire Season 1 set for $19.99. 4 discs, 22 eps plus extras, that's less than $1 an episode.

I am a new fan of Remington Steele. It's original run was before my time, and I only knew of its existance because of my love for Bond and Brosnan. I must say, though, that I love this show and cannot wait for the next release. I am also now a huge Stephanie Zimbalist fan. For some strange reason I had it in my head that I wasn't going to like her, but she is absolutely adorable and such a talent. Remington Steele has taken over the top spot in my 'Shows That Aren't On Anymore' list. :)

I've seen pictures of Brosnan as Remington Steele, and he looks very Bondish. Would any of you say it's worth buying if your are a fan of Brosnan's Bond. I've been thinking about it. But I didn't want to waste my money on something I wouldn't enjoy. Who exactly is Remington Steele, apart from it being Brozza

Erm...yes I think it is worth buying. Although Brosnan does look Bondish but he does not act like one, he is rather comical. Overall its just a fun and cheesy early 80's detective comedy and a little bit of drama series. One of my favourite TV shows, but I personally prefer Season 2 onwards as the characters became more interesting.
