It's too tenuous to just have 'May' in there so I think we should skip that. Qwerty's right, it's May Day or nothing. If we leave that out we get another 'A' leaving us with:

If we leave OIL in then we eliminate the letter 'I' which takes us one step closer to the seven letter name, that is of course presuming that is one of the true claims.

Right, to business. We don't have a lot of time. I say we leave OIL in because it is a major plot device. Matt said there would be clues named after major plot devices and OIL seems to be the only plot device that we've found. That leaves us with:
