previously on The Mole

The team was again divided into groups with the task of visually representing objects from the Bond films to the other groups. Sometimes the message did not get through :

[quote]Object : Tiger Helicopter from 'GoldenEye'

Question Two.
The Mole sabotaged this mission by?
a. Making incorrect guesses at the objects.
b. Cheating, or attempting to.
c. Enlisting the help of another player.
d. All of the above.
e. None of the above.

Before we begin this challenge I must apologise to one of you, who must remain anonymous. The Mole's job is to be dirty, but blackmail may be going too far.

It would appear that The Mole used sensitive information regarding one of you as leverage during the last two challenges in order to gain your assistance. It does not appear to have had an effect on 003, but I imagine the outcome of 004 would have been different were it not for this 'arrangement'.

This is not necessarily unacceptable behaviour for The Mole, it is well within the mandate, but it is not something I would like to see happen again and I apologise to the player involved and promise that The Mole will not ask any further favours of you.

You were going to be provided with an exemption as an apology, but from viewing the PM's in 'themole' account it is clear that you have been accepting answers from The Mole for the past three Mole Quizzes already. The plan, it seems, was to keep you alive to assist The Mole for as long as possible.

You are now on your own and yourself and themole are not to have any further communications.

Best of luck in this challenge,

mb

CHALLENGE 005

During the Cold War the British Government once believed the Russians were using childrens' puzzle books to communicate messages to their spies within the United Kingdom.

This Posted Image is an intercepted grid of letters containing the name of a Russian Spy. Retrieving this identity is worth a reward of 15,000 points to the team.

Within the grid are a series of words relating to James Bond, agent 007. Once they have been found the remaining letters can be arranged to make the name of the Spy.

Five of the following six statements are true :

1. You will need to find 20 words.
2. There are more than 20 words related to Bond within the puzzle.
3. The name of the Spy is 7 characters long.
4. All of the words are taken from the Bond films and relate to titles, character names and major plot devices ie ATAC.
5. By agreeing to receive only 10,000 points if you succeed in this challenge, you will be provided with a clue for each of the words.
6. You have 96 hours.

Good luck team,

mb

Do you want to post the words that you've found, Astros so we can build on that?

A good old fashioned wordsearch with a twist.

Trust Matt to ruin your day :)

I've monitored your progress over the last hour or so. Impressive, but I haven't seen much in terms of deception and deceit.

The Mole remains inconspicuous. I suppose that's its mission.

The players have a tough time ahead, if I know Matt.

Keep at it, and watch out for that Mole!

I feel bad... Astros has done a LOT of work and we've all been sitting on the log. Of course this challenge has only just begun. Anywho... I have Astros' grid... did you think it would be ok for me to post it? Or should we wait for him?

'Sir'

Takes the 'R' from the last column, perhaps the way Bond addresses the character of M?

We need to remember...
  • All of the words are taken from the Bond films and relate to titles, character names and major plot devices ie ATAC.
...Dry Martini doesn't seem to fit in those categories.
