Ha! Nice idea. We did something like this on Jim's hysterical humor piece about the Young Bond books. We found a P99...water pistol.Yeah, probably should have had a picture of a rubber 1930's Walther precursor to the PPK.

Ah yes, that piece.Ha! Nice idea. We did something like this on Jim's hysterical humor piece about the Young Bond books. We found a P99...water pistol.
I remember reading that when it was first released to the world in the forums. As a paying guest to your site, I would respectfully submit that a warning of some sort should be placed before such material. The reason being that as I was present at work, in body if not in soul, during my perusal of this piece, stupid snorting and grunting combined with irreverent shaking of the shoulders did nothing to augment the professional nature of either the office, or my standing in it.
Consider this a warning.

Well, it was in the Humor section

I like the cover art and the fact they note it is a "James Bond Adventure"
I'll say what I've said from the beginning of this: I'll give it a shot.
Hey Freemo, any chance this will be the March 2005 Blades Book Club selection?

Might be a good way to let people let off steam after reading it.

Good deective work Mr A. The ones on the cover art look like they're meant to be iridescent, as in living either in the deep ocean or deep under ground.I don’t think those are eels. I believe those are microscopic worms.

Almost certainly.I'll say what I've said from the beginning of this: I'll give it a shot.

Like many Bond fans, I'm not sold on this "Young Bond" idea, but curiousity will probably get the better of me and like you I'll "give it a shot".
As for the title, I don't really like it that much. Strikes me as something "trying to be a Bond title" rather than a proper Bond title. But then, I didn't like the titles Die Another Day, The Man with the Red Tattoo, or Nightfire when they came out either, so maybe there's just a reluctance on my behalf to embrace new titles. Maybe I'm just not giving them a chance.
Or maybe they're just rubbish.

I don't like the cover design. It looks like the video cover for some Disney Channel Original Movie, about Jimmy Bond going on a top secret mission to the local store to retrieve some top secret MICROFILM, containing pørnOGRAPHIC images to keep the store owner from using the photos to release his "Silverfins" all over the world.

What I was trying to say also during that commotion, Goldfinger is just more exotic sounding than SilverFin is. Compare a gold finger to a silver fin, that sort. When I read all that commotion earlier about comparing SILVERFIN to GOLDFINGER, I was appalled. I must agree with Qwerty, because GOLDFINGER, and THUNDERBALL just are better titles. If you want to get all technical about it, there's no real reason, but they just sound better. They just do.
SilverFin does indeed sound somewhat generic, and not all that great. However, it is a bit unfair to judge now before the book is read, which I will definitely do.
Judging oftens occurs though.

Interesting assesment there. Disney Original movie, you could be right on, I believe that's all that channel has now...trash.I don't like the cover design. EXACTLY! I remember back when I was younger, like around 5 years ago, when the channel used to be so good! Now everything's all about cheap special f/x and stupid cartoons. The same goes for Nickelodeon (which was at it's PEAK in the mid-90's)Interesting assesment there. I want a NICKELODEON CLASSICS CHANNEL too! Salute Your Shorts was a great show!Yeah. It's good to talk to someone in my age group. Also, I think that they should make a NICKELODEON CLASSICS CHANNEL, with all of the old shows that were on from the early to mid-90's. They had some of them on The-N, but they're gone now.

I'm looking foward to these books also. I would rather have a true continuation novel, but I'll give these a shot. And they'll go right up there on my shelf of first editions.Looks like I'm the only one looking foward to these books.

I'm not in the age group these books are being made for but it is the next best thing from having a continuation novel in 2005.You're young enough to want to.Looks like I'm the one looking foward to these books.
