I just never got into him or that show. I've seen it a few times too.I like Julian McMahon. He's great on Nip/Tuck, not so sure about Bond. He's about 5 or 6 on my list.
Julian McMahon next in line to play James Bond?

Yeah, it's kind of a take and take situation. MGM takes away our right to use any of their pictures or logs and such on our sites but they want to take our opinions for their own usage without giving anything in return.I'm suddenly hostile over all this today. I think Moriarty is a tool and MGM is using all the Bond fansites as a free focus group -- floating names and seeing how we react.
Hey, MGM peepers! *middle finger*
If anyone wants me I'll be hanging with Kevin McClory.
I wonder if Harry Knowles, who is renowned for getting free trips to visit sets and other perks, is getting anything out of this one. Bet he'd be allowed to put up official Bond stuff for his site if it meant MGM got something out of it.

Then the series would be in development hell.Hey, if they do Casino Royale, they could do a remake of the 1967 version. Each contender could be called "James Bond" then

Another name onto the list. It's getting to the stage where one has to ask who isn't going to be the next James Bond.

Great actor... too smug. I think there's a lot of crazy crack being smoked in Eon's casting office of late.
I'm still completely behind Damien Lewis btw... pass the crack pipe Barbara...

I think Zencat is right we're being used as a focus group or to drive down the price of the actor who will actually star in the Bond 21 (who may very well be Pierce in his swansong or Jackman).

I do agree though. First Bana, then Purefoy, now McMahon.
Bana - We heard of it before he did. "No one's asked me."
Owen - Doesn't want to do it. Leave the poor man alone.
Purefoy - Did he EVER say anything on the subject.
Now McMahon - Have we heard anything from him? No. He's happily doing a great show that's really beginning to stretch it's legs AND (odds are) he's signed for at least the next three years. Doesn't mean he couldn't do a Bond during hiatus, but Eon has always enjoyed keeping their current Bond to themselves and not on TV every week.....Sound familiar?...Say circa 1986 with another actor?
Strangely quiet on the Jackman front. He does wrap on Broadway next month and then has "nothing planned" per his Dateline interview.
I smell a "red-herring" - not a fish I'm fond of.
Using the fan base as a sounding board - Absolutely. They'd be crazy not to. As to how they are doing it....There's a better way.
Above all of this....comments aside...No OFFICIAL word from them or Pierce. They WILL NOT do anything of the sort until Bond number 6 for Bond 21 is signed. Just my gut here, but it does fit the pattern which comes with the "changing of the Bonds".
I do have faith that on this one, whoever it may be, it's going to be someone who is both familiar to the gnereal public and accepted by the Bond community.
The clock's ticking and they (Eon) know it. I think the whole MGM "who'll buy us out?" news has allowed them a smoke screen Q would have approved of.

I agree it smells like we are getting a lot of red herrings right now. I feel that Eon and MGM are getting more and more internet savvy and are fooling around with us all now and keeping their secrets in a tight circle and even fooling inside sources to giving false leads.Ah...Zencat's been attending the Bryce "Diplomacy and Etiquette" seminars at UCLA every other weekend.I'm suddenly hostile over all this today. Athena,I've never seen this guy in anything, but he's going to be in the Fantastic Four movie in 2005.
Anywho... what irks me about all these rumored Bond #6's (including this Julian McYaddaYadda) is that they do NOT have the bond look... facial wise (Jackman is the closest out of all the rumored men). ARH!
I always thought Julian McMahon resembled Hugh Jackman. In fact during Nip/Tuck's first season, before my wife got me into it, I'd wander by the TV and ask. "What are watching with Hugh Jackman?" My longsuffering wife would sigh and make that face, c/mon Athena you know the one, the one that says Men Are SOOOO Dim, and say; "That's Julian McMahon!" and the inflection in her voice meant. 1. He is NOT the actor from that stupind comic book movie you and boys love to watch. and 2. He's a hottie.
I got into Nip/Tuck the last half of last season and the more I watched McMahon the more i thought he was suited to play secret agent. He's got the charisma of a Connery or Brosnan. He's got that cat-ilke walk that Connery had, and he's can make you beleive he's a real hardcore b@$tard. Now when they introduce him on the show. I look at my wife and say; "Bond, James Bond." If I can't have Gerard Butler, I'd like an order of Julian McMahon please.

Charlie Sheen
Colin Farrell - I'm surprised this one hasn't come on strong lately.
The Irish guy in Charlie's Angels Full Throttle
The guy who played Young Indianna Jones (whatever happened to him)
It has gotten rediculous. I'm sick of waiting. Just make the (censored) movie already!!!

I just read on another board ( not a Bond one, btw) where someone posted that the BANA thing came about because the producers decided to cast him without talking to him and when he found out, he denied wanting the job, so they decided to bring in Julian MacMahon to their offices on Tuesday. Yes, that's what the post said...a confirmed visit to the producer's office on Tuesday!
I had to respond with the producers NEVER announce a visit to their offices ( I hope I know my info correctly, but I've never heard of them doing that before) and they wait until an official press announcement when introducing a new BOND.
Correct me if I'm wrong, and I'll go back and post a correction on that other board, but I just couldn't believe the things some people pick up in rumor and believe.
