To go off-topic (I'll come back), in my opinion, Family Guy, one of my favourite television shows, has overtaken it in quality. I've got all the 'seasons' (an American show, so I'll use an American term) on DVD, as I'm not much of a television watcher. The random humour is hilarious, such as the one Bond reference I can recall.
Lois: ... but it will give you and Chris a chance to bond.
Peter: Bond. James Bond. I'll do it.
Not the best example of the excellence of the show, though I'll never forget;
Stewie: It's not so much that I want to 'kill' her, it's just that I want her to not be alive anymore.
Or;
Quagmire: So what were you in an accident?
Man with wooden legs and arms: No me father was a tree.
Just brilliant.
But to drag myself back on topic, You Only Move Twice is one of the best Simpsons episode, not only for the Bond references, but also when Bart goes to school.
Boy: I'm from C-a-n-a-d-a and they say I'm slow, e-e-e-e-e-h-h-h-h.
My Canuck family and friends hate it, but a line I found hilarious at the time.

But when it comes to today, South Park, Family Guy and King Of The Hill outshine the latest episodes of The Simpsons. I'm glad they're bringing Family Guy back!
It seems The Simpsons aren't very "up to date" lately, and they don't know what's popular or what to poke fun at. That's where South Park gets my vote. Have you seen "The Return Of The Lord Of The Rings To The Two Towers" episode? LOL!

That's because South Park can be animated in less than a week, whereas Simpson's episodes take forever."You Only Move Twice" was a great Simpsons episode!

Some people don't find King Of The Hill very funny, but they don't understand that it's a satire on the redneck lifestyle, and that it's not supposed to be joke-per-second humour like Family Guy or The Simpsons. King Of The Hill is real-life stuff, and it does a really good job of that. Dale Gribble and Bill Dautrive crack me up!I've actually only recently started to get into "King of The Hill" ...I'm still not a fan of it, but I'd rather turn it on for entertainment instead of any of the other "adult" cartoons.
Dale: Was it small and crafty, like a mosquito, or was it cunning, like a fly?
Bill: Uh... I don't know. It's uh...
Dale: Fly!
Bill: Ooh! Oh!
(This might not be accurate, but what the hell!

I think the simplest way to describe it is that the show got dumber as it moved on. I never really was a huge fan in any event, but the older episodes are better than the newer ones. (When I occasionally watched one)I liked the Simpsons when it first came out. And then... ya, it got very dumb and lame and... oh not funny. Maybe it's because I "grew up" and "grew out of it", but none the less... I'm not amused by The Simpsons unless there's a Bond reference.

I really need to see more of this show.I remember in one episode in Season #4 I believe that has Bart Simpson putting a James Bond figure in the microwave.
Also did anyone catch the deleted scene in the episode where Homer's a card dealer in Mr. Burns' casino where meets Blofeld, 007, Jaws and Oddjob?
Good ole MGM lets it slide.

(Homer puts card on Blofeld's side)
Blofeld: 20. Your move Mr. Bond.
Connery Bond: I'll take a hit, dealer.
(Homer throws card to Bond)
Connery Bond: (Looks at card) Joker? You were supposed to take that out of the deck.
Homer: oops! Sorry! Here's another one.
(Homer throws another card)
Connery Bond: (looks at card) What is this card? Rules to playing black poker?
Blofeld: What a pity Mr. Bond.
(Jaws and Oddjob carry Bond out of the table)
Connery Bond: Why this is Homer's fault. Lose!? I never lose! At least tell me your plans of world domination!
Blofeld: Ha! I'm not going to fall for that one again!
(All leave the casino)

Yes it was Blofeld. He was bald and had the cat. Only this time he had an eyepatch. Maybe that's why you got confused.Saw that one! LOL!I remember in one episode in Season #4 I believe that has Bart Simpson putting a James Bond figure in the microwave.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense.Well of course the show didn't mention the villians' names, be you can easily reconize it. I think some of the dialouge in the casino table goes like this:
(Homer puts card on Blofeld's side)
Blofeld: 20. Your move Mr. Bond.
Connery Bond: I'll take a hit, dealer.
(Homer throws card to Bond)
Connery Bond: (Looks at card) Joker? You were supposed to take that out of the deck.
Homer: oops! Sorry! Here's another one.
(Homer throws another card)
Connery Bond: (looks at card) What is this card? Rules to playing black poker?
Blofeld: What a pity Mr. Bond.

Connery Bond: Why this is Homer's fault. Lose!? I never lose! At least tell me your plans of world domination!
Blofeld: Ha! I'm not going to fall for that one again!
(All leave the casino)
Take the safe route.
I might have seen some and not known it when I was younger.

I think some of the dialogue of this scene goes like this:(I think I should changed this thread to "SimsoniZed Bond")
Scorpio: Ingenius, isn't it Mr. Bondt?
Bont: Scorpio, your totally mad!
Scorpio: I wouldn't point fingers ou Jerk!
Bont: Sho, do you expect me to talk?
Scorpio: I don't expect anything from you except to die and be a very cheap funeral. Your gonna die now!
(Bont escapes by using a quarter to deflect the laser, which in turn broke him free!)
Scorpio: Stop him he's supposed to die!
(Homer tackles Bont, Scorpio's guard then shoot him!)

Sounds like the hallmark episode of them all.You Only Move Twice was great, especially the ending with the assualt on Scorpio's lair, the girls like Bambi and Thumper, the "control voice" from every Bond movie "fifteen minutes and counting." and of course the Shirely Bassey send off of the ending credits. "Scorpio....he loves beer.....a good German beer!" Just freakin great.

That's the one where Homer picks that gummi bear off that babysitter's bum?My favourite Simpsons would have to be "Homer Badman", when he's mistaken for a pervert and is shunned upon the town. LMAO 15X!
Groundskeeper Willie, a video-camera pervert? Why I wouldn't have guessed...

The show should have ended with the last season. It's had it's run.God, I hate the Simpsons. I used to love it but now it's just paint by numbers.

I agree to that, but I wish Mort Goldman was dead. He sucks, and he nearly ruined Family Guy for me.God, I hate the Simpsons. I used to love it but now it's just paint by numbers.

But YAY! January 2005- Family Guy is back!

Simpsons is a good cartoon, but I think they're beginning to lose a little steam. Now they're going to "out" a character next season (one of the signs of shark jumping). Based on what's been shown, you'd think it'd be Waylon Smithers, but they'll probably go a different route, like one of Homer's co-worker friends or Barney, or the Channel 8 bee.

They're obviously doing that because they're losing viewers, and because they can't think of a decent plot. Just because they are running out of ideas doesn't mean they should express their stupid ones. Homer used to be a funny, lovable character, but today I could care less if he gets shot in the head. In fact, it would be better for the world if he did.Now they're going to "out" a character next season (one of the signs of shark jumping).
