I think John Woo is a terrible director when he's doing American films. I'll be skipping this one.

I got kinda mad at this one guy who didn't like M:I-2. I asked him why he didn't like it, and he said "there was a mask for every situation". Come on! It was supposed to work that way! It wasn't like the writers went "Oh, Ethan is dead. But, uh... no, he wasn't dead! He pulls off a mask!". Ethan Hunt obviously put that mask on that guy because he wanted Ambrose to shoot his brains out! It wasn't coincidence or any of that crap!

Like I said, opinions.

I didn't mind the masks, too much.

Went a bit far perhaps with the Ethan one later in the film, but still was effective.

Some other good news about John Woo for Tom Clancy fans. He has picked up the rights to Rainbow Six! :) That should be fun.

Nope, he ruined MI:2, he'll ruin RAINBOW too.

What do you mean "he ruined M:I-2"? Gee whiz!

No I'm going to have a big frickin' splinter in my mind! Thank you all very very much! :)

Mission:Impossible is not "run and gun"-flying through the air-Matrix style. Thats what was so cool about the first one, there was none of that. If John Woo watched the 60's TV show, then he could have done a better job. NOW that show was the epitome of cool.

I agree on that. The first one was extremely better.

Seemed to have more suspense and style.

The suspense and style that was in the TV show and not even remotely close to being in the second one.

I didn't follow the TV show as I did the two films, but I've heard similar as well.

Ok... I know it was written in here before, but it just hit me that The Rock is going to be starring in Spy Hunter. This makes me mad, I'm sick of The dang Rock! The guy can not act and he's ruinning movies -- like the Johnny Bravo (2005) movie, he's in that too, as Johnny Bravo... Nooooooooooooooooooooo are you nutz! The Rock is NOT Johnny Bravo, you numbskulls! Grrrrrrrrrrr... :)

I can't say I'm sick and tired of Dwane "The Rock" Johnston, but I am tired of all the video game roles he is thinking of playing. First, there is Spy Hunter. Then, there is rumour that The Rock will star in Doom, based on the best-selling PC game, as we all know. And that stupid numbskull video game director Uwe Bol, responsible for the atrocious House Of The Dead movie, wants Dwane to play the role of Jack Carver for the movie Far Cry.

The bit about Far Cry is the most disappointing for me. Not because of The Rock, but because of Uwe Bol. Excuse me if this is crude (it's Navy SEAL talk), but Uwe Bol couldn't direct a horny sailor into a whore house at midnight. This guy takes the movie rights to every video game he can find, knowing full well that he is a bad director. Why? Because PEOPLE LOVE VIDEO GAMES. He does this because he thinks that shoddy directing doesn't stop people from enjoying movies about their favourite video games!

I can cross my heart for John Woo. You might not all think that he's a good director, but trust me on this, he is better than Uwe Bol. And he's taking the movie rights to video games as well, not because he thinks he can do a crappy job but rake in moulah, but because he wants to, because he likes to, because he has the experience and the advantage over Uwe Bol. We'll have to see how Spy Hunter turns out.

I could be wrong about everything. Spy Hunter, Rainbow Six, and maybe Metroid (which he had also taken the rights to) could be total and utter crap. But a great man once taught me that you stand for what you believe in, and you must risk everything for that belief.

Wasn't House Of The Dead a huge failure? It just seemed like one of the most absolute [censored]tiest films ever made - trying too hard to have style and just be cool, but it just looked like it failed miserably. How could any studio be willing to let that man work again? But hey, then again, if I was a studio exec over at Paramount, I would have spit in Jonathon Demme's face at the suggestion of him directing the remake of The Manchurian Candidate after the horrific failure of his remake of Charade. Surprisingly enough, the Manchurian remake was quite good.

In terms of The Rock, I didn't hear about him doing all these video game movies. Personally, I hope he isn't really in line for all of them, but that is because I'd really like to see his career flourish. His major step forward is going to be next year, as a gay bodyguard in Be Cool, the sequel to Get Shorty. I think that The Rock is a very charismatic, likeable, and yes, talented guy who could really become a true Hollywood powerhouse and could possibly out-do Schwarzenegger himself.

Yes, House Of The Dead blew big time. I laughed my head off at the trailer- fisrt, they make it look like a horror, then they think they can add some cool action elements, then the moron who was put in charge of editing the trailer thinks, "Wait! This is a horror movie!", so he quickly adds in the scary elements (which are not so scary!)

Aside from his movies, most of Uwe Bol's trailers are poorly edited. I saw a trailer for the Alone In The Dark movie with Christian Slater, and although the movie itself looked okay, the editing was atrocious. The movie has actually disappeared off the face of the earth! :)

And I notice that another upcoming project on Boll's list is the adaptation of the vampire-killing-Nazi's shoot-em-up, BloodRayne. Not only does it seem to completely ignore the plot of the game (from what I've read so far), but somehow this fool Bol has some top-notch talent like Sir Ben Kingsley and Michael Madsen. How, I ask you. HOW???

Go figure how he gets all that top talent for his movies. It's bizarre, I know! :)

Good lord, I so hope that the Far Cry movie is canned!

Anyone remember the movie version of The Avengers?

Now there was a bad spy movie, and don't say I didn't understand it because it was all brittish and it wasn't really meant for my sense of american understanding. :) I know a bad Sir COnnery flick when I see it. No matter how skin tight Uma's pants were.

008 and I should make the soiciety for the prevention of cruelity of MI:2.

Next thing anyone knows people will start ripping on every sequel ever made....
