Then again, Adrian might be able to dig deep and surprise us all.

I predict that on CBn there will be more "no" than "yehs"--this forum seems to be strong for Owen and Jackman though a fairly solid minority seems supportive or at least open to Paul.
So again a big "YES".

couldn't say better...[...]
He got his catchphrase ready: There can be only one!!!!
I can imagine Paul with his suit , in a casino scene saying: "Bond , James Bond " - fantastic! he looks perfect for the role.

I heard it did pretty well overseas--I heard a story that Paul went to Russia and they were all calling him the Highlander over there and he was well known. How big of a hit was Highlander: The Series, overseas?

Loomis there you go again. I think if you gave him a chance you may be pleasantly suprised. But as you say we all have our various opinions and we are stuck with them!If Paul were cast, I wouldn't boycott the series.... but I'd come close. I'd be very, very disappointed, and I'd probably wait until DVD to check out BOND 21. In fact, I'd probably go around claiming that Bond died with Cubby (well, I do that already, but you get the idea
). For a number of years now, he's been the absolute last actor I want to see as 007. The reaction others would have to Orlando Bloom or Hugh Grant, I'd have to Paul.
To each his own, though.

I like Adrian Paul, I did like the Highlander series they were fun. Perhaps Paul would be the third succesfull actor that first did very well in a television series. The Saint, Remington Steele & Highlander.
And most of the girl I dated in the time this was on the telly actually though he was very sexy in SC kind of way.
But I have to say that at this point i see a lot of strong contenders, and well see when we get there. And be prepared to start some serious discussion then, because whoever they choose there is no pleasing to a "hardcore" Bondfan.

His age worries me too. I'm kind of amazed enough Parade readers remembered Adrian Paul enough to count him in a next Bond survey.

This man IMHO would make the best Bond since Connery

He has as the quote goes "All the right stuff"
He has a huge following in Europe not to mention if he didn't have enough following I don't believe he could have even touched the top in Parade Magazine!

As far as I'm aware. pretty much nothing in the UK (I think it was only shown on Sky One)How big of a hit was Highlander: The Series, overseas?
-- Xenobia
But then Remington Steele was nothing over here either so there's no telling from that.

Perhaps they are looking for someone who is known to some, but not huge to all.
Someone with cult status, but won't demand a big paycheck.
Someone who can do his own stunts and (yes, I say this with a blush), won't get hurt doing them.
