I absolutely love how SPIKE TV has Bond marathons. I remember watching them last Thanksgiving, it was great. Nothing tops marathons, nothing! :)

The only thing that tops a SPIKE TV Bond marathon were the classic TBS marathons.

I'd take TBS over SPIKE anytime, anyday.

Spike TV Bond-athon July 5th, UPDATE: Bryce AND Bond?!?!

So, I'm sitting here this morning watching CNN. Typical.

The channel on my digital cable system that carries CNN is one up from Spike. In grabbing the remote to turn down the volume and answer the phone, I mistakingly hit the channel button instead of mute.

BEST mistake I've EVER made.

I glance at the screen and see.....

MYSELF!

:)

In tux and posing by my Jag with the audio bite: "Bond Fans are a different breed."

:)

Back in 2002 at BCW5 in San Francisco, myself and the equally deadly Paladin were interviewed for these segments. He gave a lecture on Bond's guns, and then they did shoot a bit with me and Bond wheels. We nearly had as shot of the Jag and the DAF Mustang (as it was there at the time) tearing down the streets.

That (sadly) did not happen, but I've been hounding the producers off and on for the last two years to get any of the footage. It seems like they've finally included it and got it pieced together.

The main hosts are three car/street racers that are the coolest lads who gave themselves fully to being educated on Bond. The REAL deal from Paladin, the lifestyle from me.

McCartney007 and Zencat can vouch on this one. Flicka was there and may actually also be appearing in one of the segments.

Needless to say I'm ecstatic at the potential and I do recall plugging CBn. My TV's are all now on Spike for the next five days and two of the VCR's and the DVD are buring tape/discs as I type.

I've been waiting for a return call from the producer or a response to my email to her.

I'll keep you posted but so far it looks like Paladin and I may get some of our "15 minutes" of fame....

And it will be as a Bond Fans.

:)

OH MY GOD

You bet I will be watching Spike to try and catch that again.

Glad they finally got it working.

So what's the program called that you're on? "Bond Fans are a different breed."? If we can figure that out then we can check the listings.

Thanks for merging these Athena - I was just about to myself.

I don't know any details, but these segments will be ongoing throughout the marathon. I have no idea (yet) when I'll be popping up.

Hopefully I'll know something later today.

My quote/sound bite is me. I said it. I don't know how it's all going to come together or what they're calling the segments.

*fingers crossed*

I just turned it on and they're showing TSWLM. Waiting to see one of those promos. With Spike, I'm sure I won't have to wait long for a commercial. :)

So far the only bits are the same filler again and again of the lads sitting on the hood of their cars and talking about Bond girls.

Still no word from the producer.

DOH!

:)

Ya, I keep seeing those guys as well. But... as you said, you did see yourself that one day. So we know you're in a Bond on Spike promo somewhere :)

They've got to have done SOMETHING with all that they filmed with Paladin and I.

Also, a friend of mine in the midwest emailed me that he saw me too. Watch and wait, but my recorders are all buzzing.

I'll be really bummed if nothing comes of this, but I signed a general release (as did Flicka in fact) that entitles them to use any footage "in perpetuity throughout the universe presently known or later to be discovered at any time".

That's Hollywood for ya.

*sigh*
