What it all boils down to is we will never see Connery appear in another EON 007 picture - despite all the Connery as a villain rumors that turn up every couple of years like clock-work.

Honestly, it would be rather a total waste of a villain I think if he ever was to be a villain. I couldn't look at him as a credible villain, I don't think. Not after seeing him as James Bond.

I agree. As a villain, Bond's father, M, Q, Moneypenny, Felix Leiter, Zukovsky, Robinson, Tanner or anybody else, Connery will not do it.

If Lee Tamahori had his way, Sean would come back as a villain, playing another James Bond. Perhaps Pierce is supposed to be his nephew, Jimmy...

It just doesn't make sense. No matter what the role, excluding James Bond, I don't think any of the past actors to portray Bond would do that well as a different character. But that's just my opinion.

Nor should they. If they want to use Roger Moore's daughter in a cameo or even consider his son as Bond, fine. Joe Don Baker can be a villain and a sidekick (hopefully not anymore, though) and Maud Adams is the villain's girlfriend and the main Bond woman, so be it. But bringing back past Bonds would be a sure sign of desparation and it should never even be considered.

You've hit it on the nose Turn. Cameos are great, and I love spotting them, whether Madonna, Roger Moore's daughter, Terence Young's wife. Maud Adams as two Bond girls was excellent. But a past Bond as a villain?!?

I seem to recall that an agreement was reached where Connery would get a portion of the merchandising. I don't know what year that would have been done. If it has his likeness, then he should get a portion of the money taken in from the sale of that product. He's must still be getting a portion off of such current items as the Sideshow figures. Maybe part of the current Brosnan situation is about merchandising per-centage.

In 1983, when Connery was promoting NSNA, he appeared on Johnny Carson's TONIGHT SHOW. Carson asked Connery who was the best Bond villain? To which Connery replied, "Cubby Broccoli."

I would have liked to see that, just to see audience reaction and the look on Connery's face when he mentioned that. All I know of it, is what's mentioned in The Legacy book.

I'd doubt the audience had any idea who Cubby Broccoli was.

I actually have that interview on tape but don't remember that line. What I do remember is Carson asking Connery to sing Underneath the Mango Tree.
