no matter what way they go someone going to be unhappy

Whilst this is true, are you not going to give Bond 21 a go if Pierce Brosnan isn't in it?

Giving rise to the question, are you a Bond fan or Brosnan fan. Or a Bond fan because Brosnan is in it?

i will go see it because its bond BUT i would enjoy it far more if brosnan would be the star

if someone else is playing the part of bond and i dont care for them i will just like it less is all

Looks like Owen's busy, too. According to imdb (not the most reliable of sources) Derailed is due to start shooting this autumn.

James Purefoy still looks an interesting prospect.

Hmm, I don't know about all of those said details about this person being busy then, etc.. Those can be worked around.

If I have to make a choice,

and I have to say I,m not keen on either as Bond

( I like them both in the roles they have had so far, I just dont see either of them as Bond!)

Then it would have to be Jackman on the basis of screen charisma and acting ability.

Owen looks the part, more than jackman, but his performance in Arthur was by far the dullest, most out of place looking shambles I have seen in a long time.

Either he does not have the hidden depths he has hinted at in other screen roles or he was very, very badly directed.......time will tell.

In the mean time Jackman has never been stretched in a screen role
(and as Connery pointed out... Bond is a much more complex role than people imagine )

nor IMHO does he look the part.

(He's short, and looks like a refined Bruce Springsteen.....now that's still a good looking guy...... But it's NOT how I see Bond!!!!

However!

He HAS survived some major league special FX orientated movies and come through with an intense character driven performance....

SO ! Jackman over Owen, on present form...

Just picking you up on a small point. If you're referring to Jackman, then he's not short. He's around 6'2" and this is fairly obvious if you see him in any off-screen photos with other people.

I prefer Ewan MacGregor. he has a lot more to offer the role than Jackman , with Clive is diferent he too would be a good Bond but he said he don't want to.

Sounds average. I think Moore might have been the tallest with 6'3, so it isn't short by any means.

I actually recall reading somewhere that each subsequent 007 has been shorter than the last, making Sean Connery the tallest.

Might've been an article on Mel Gibson as Bond, actually.

So Hugh Jackman is as tall as Lazenby eh? Hmmm, two aussies who are the same height. Yeah, I think it means Jackman will be the next Bond :)

Having seen full body shots of Jackman walking in Swordfish, I can definitely believe he is 6'2. He has very long legs.

Did you know that a real James Bond, one employed by Her Majesty's government would actually be more suitable if he were shorter than six foot? Yes, well, according to this anyway:

James Bond, Britain

[quote name='Moomoo' date='14 August 2004 - 06:22'] That would rule out all the actors to have starred as the suave, unflappable Bond who worked for MI5
