I have over 600 titles on DVD. Do you really want me to list them?

Maybe we should start a new topic with our DVD wish list ...

Biggles: Adventures in Time would be my first choice but it's not on DVD and I have a bad feeling it never will be.

However Young Sherlock Holmes is on DVD and will one day, very soon (and despite Mrs T's objections) make it into my collection.

I agree with both of those taxman. Interesting "Biggles" is just known simply as "Biggles" here in the US, and with all the stuff they are digging up right now, you never know if they will release it.

Don't mention this to anyone on the Clive Cussler Discussion Board (including Jack Chase 007) but I actually like Raise the Titanic. Especially since it is graced by one of John Barry's best ever scores.

But what I find fascinating is the film that it should have been.

There's a great website that deals with it:

It's amazing sometimes what is available on DVD and what isn't availableon DVD.

I'm missing quite a few Alfred Hitchcock films, Stanley Kubrick films, and there aren't many David Lynch films on DVD. One that I really want is "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" which is one of my favorites.

One that I really want is "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" which is one of my favorites.

Yes, I'd love to own that film.

Other great films I wish were available on R2 DVD:

The works of Kenji Mizoguchi

More films by Yasujiro Ozu (only two of his films are available on R2, I believe),
particularly TOKYO STORY and AN AUTUMN AFTERNOON

More Satyajit Rays, particularly KANCHENJUNGHA and DAYS AND NIGHTS IN THE FOREST

HIROSHIMA MON AMOUR

LAST YEAR IN MARIENBAD

Various Eisensteins, especially TIME IN THE SUN

Various Jacques Tatis, especially PLAYTIME (possibly my favourite film ever)

And I could go on and on and on. Basically, there's a lot of subtitled "art house" classics and non-US/UK films I'd love to get. But even quite a number of terrific recent films by famous directors (case in point: Bertolucci's STEALING BEAUTY) seem to be unavailable on DVD here in the UK. :)

I really hope Bertolucci's director's cut of THE LAST EMPEROR will be released on DVD this year in Britain.

I exercise all the time.
  • I get up from my chair
  • I walk to the DVD case behind me
  • I pick out a DVD
  • I walk over to the DVD player
  • I insert the disk
  • I then walk back to my chair and sit down
  • I use the remote control to play the movie
What more exercise do I need ...?
