I just finished Goldfinger, and although I hate to admit I'm reading a children's book, I've just started Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

The Spy Who Loved Me. Been a LONG time for this one. Now I remember why Fleming got into a bit of trouble regarding how racy his novels were accused of being.

I've been rereading all the Fleming Bonds, and DAF was better than I remembered. Maybe it's just my changing tastes, but some of my old favorites haven't held up as well, and some of the ones I didn't care as much for (such as MR and DAF) are better than I used to think. It certainly makes things interesting when you don't know what to expect from a book you've read before.

DAF is really underrated, IMO. I'm in the minority there, I know, but it's really a good story and a great relationship between Bond & Tiffany. It's also one of Felix' best appearances. And the concept is just ripe with potential. Bond vs. organized crime syndicate. Yeaaaaahhhh...

I'm with ya. Can't exactly place my finger on it, but it's one of those Bond novels I can absolutely fly through once I start reading.

Very enjoyable.

Just finished ''Dexter in the Dark''. With this third book, Jeff Lindsay looks to be putting distance between him and the TV show. There's more humour (courtesy of kid sidekicks Cody and Astor) and a touch of the supernatural as Dex explores the origins of his Dark Passenger and encounters an Old Testement death cult. Watch for the all too blatant movie rip at the end.

I am currently reading Douglas Adams' The Salmon of Doubt. It's my first taste of his work. He's the bloke who created The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

It was kinda the book he was working on when he died at the early age of 49 in May 2001 mixed with stuff his friends found on his computer hard drive. It's mostly excellent, and very funny and intelligent. My favourite is his short tale about cookies.

Makes me want to read more of his stuff.

The last book I read was the second part of the collection of Sherlock Holmes. It has wonderfull plot. It can't be compared with the films. It's much better when you read it, it's more exciting.

I've just finished Walter Tevis' The Man who fell to Earth

It's a great novel about a humanoid alien who comes to Earth to save the people of his own planet and Earth's, and uses his technological knowledge to gain countless technology patents and creates a large conglomerate. becoming a multi-millionaire. However, he is soon tempted by human things such as TV and alcohol, while the FBI are watching him closely....

Definitely worth a read, and it also made me appreciate the 1976 movie starring David Bowie even more.
