It was funny because this circulated round the offices where I worked many times. First it went around the first floor offices, then it went around the ground floor offices, then it was forwarded to loads more people and then it came back to the office, was circulated round the warehouse and by that time everyman and his gran had seen and was talking about it. And for a long time everyone believed it was real, but I didn't have the heart to tell them it wasn't.
That text above the composite pic is actually what was in the e-mail, btw.

Ah, well, I do actually own Jaws 4, don't know exactly why, the first three films were good, this one....well it wasn't as good as the first three!Funnily enough that was exactly what I thought of too. I happen to like the movie by the way and if there's anyone who doesn't...we can take it outside.
A shark roaring...that's random.
Typical little adventure film though.

Another thing, have you seen the many shooting stars that appear throughout Jaws? I've heard that this is a signature of Spielberg and there are at least three that I've spotted. The most notable are the one that flies passed Brody's head when he's aiming his gun and the one that flies over the Orca in the long shot. Both take place at night.
Which version of The Revenge do you have Qwerty? There are two. The first features a really B-Movie looking ending where the shark is impaled by the front of the boat but the second features similar shots with the shark mysteriously exploding and then the same sinking shot used in Jaws. It also features another scene after that where the boat sinks and everyone's floating in the water and they find Jake alive.

Yes, I've seen the stars plenty times in the first film, and I have the unreleased theatre version where they stole the one shot from the first film.Everyone goes on about the shark roaring and I know that sharks don't do it in real life, but Spielberg used it in Jaws when the shark leaps up onto the Orca. Also, as a point of interest, the sound effect which accompanies the shark as it sinks at the end is taken from his previous movie Duel which featured the same effect when the truck goes over the cliff. It was taken from an old dinosaur movie.

Yes....the only thing that bugs me with the series, although I like these films somewhat--technology got worse in each successive one.Yeah that's true. There's also this really bad shot on the original cut where the shark, whilst underwater, turns on it's side slightly and you can see all the mechanics inside. Also, when Mike is hiding in the sunken ship and the shark comes through the wall, you can see the hydraulic system that pushed it through. That's in both versions.
Still a very fun movie though.
