I just read on www.darkhorizons.com that Bale is contracted to star in BATMAN 5, as well as a sequel, and eventually the long-awaited BATMAN VERSUS SUPERMAN team-up/showdown.

Now, I do pose one question...

What's the point of the two of them fighting? Really - Supes could tear him apart like (snaps fingers) that.

Bale will make a brilliant young Batman, but nobody can compete with the performances of a Mr. Michael Keaton. I can only hope that maybe in the near future we will see him done the cape one last time, even if only for a cameo. More than likely not though. It's a shame, who knows what Batman Forever could have been with Burton and Keaton involved.

Hopefully not the way the series was progressing (which was more Burtonesque rather tham Batmanesque), Keaton is only 50 now, so I suppose he still could make a believable Batman. His portrayal was definitely the best so far, so moody and dark, yet slightly quirky.

I'm pretty sure that I said it before, but I will say it again - they need, and I mean NEED, DANNY ELFMAN.

Personally, when I think of Batman, just about the first thing that comes to my head is his incredible, amazing theme. I think his theme is almost as iconic as (dare I say?) the James Bond theme.

It certainly is the best theme song to a superhero I've heard, but I wouldn't say it was nearly as iconic as Norman's theme, ask the man on the street to hum the Bond theme, then ask him to hum the Batman film theme by Danny Elfman and he'll be very hard pressed to do it I wager.

But don't get me wrong, I agree with you 100% Jackchase, we need the return of that theme, if not Elfman himself. Let's hope our wishes are delivered. *hums the martial Batman theme*
