Agreed, I stopped watching the episodes on PaxTV for that reason. I couldn't deal with it. At the Museum for Radio & TV I found a couple of RS videos and bought them a few years back. I'd like to get the entire series eventually.

The guy at Fox who canned Keen Eddie needs to be taken out back and shot. One man should not get to make that kind of decision.

Again, I agree. It was a very smart, clever, classy show. It deserved a serious chance. Like Fox has so many good quality shows that it doesn't need one more??? ... Not!

As far as I am concerned Colin should be the next 007, but we all know that won't happen. He's a great actor, and I hope he gets to do more stuff in the US.

I know it's not a popular opinion but frankly, I wouldn't mind it at all. Or at least create a new character for him and build a film around it. Or at least a TV series!

Just saw my first episode last night (thanks to urging of the ever persuasive Athena007) and I loved it! I'm officially on board the MI-5 bandwagon. :)

I think it was a perfect introduction to the show and characters for me.

Last nights episode was great. One of the best so far.

Also, the first season is coming to dvd in January, though it is only the British first season, with only 6 episodes, not the American first season where the made both the first and second into one

Yes I am still thinking about how great last night's episode was. The series keeps getting better and better.

Jwheels57, where did you hear of the DVD release? Also I hope we get the actual British versions and not the hacked and watered down American versions.

I got the info from dvdanswers.com. It doesn't say whether or not it will be the British versions, but there will be Deleted Scenes.

Here is the link:

I liked the James Bond reference they made last night. Because he be came the Emergency Executive Officer, somebody told Tom that he became James Bond behind a desk, making other people do the dangerous work.

I have noticed numerous Bond references in the past. The only one that comes to mind right now is a mention of Pussy Galore.

Thanks for the DVD info. It's a little on the expensive side, but I'm willing to shell out anything for this show.

Also, I am quite baffled as to why they switched the show to 8 Central a few weeks ago, and now they switched it back to 9 C. What's the deal with that?

A & E DVD is putting MI-5 out in January 2004. They are also putting out the SAPPHIRE AND STEELE UK series that starred David McCallum and Joanna Lumley. Their Saint DVDs have great picture quality.

Well the second season is winding down here (only two episodes left :)). But I am a little confused about one thing, is the third season currently being filmed or is that the fourth season? I got all messed up because the US got the 1st & 2nd seasons in only one year. Just want to know how long we have to wait here until we get more episodes.

A great show. Tonite's episode was gripping. And what is it about Matthew MacFadyen (Tom Quinn), that makes me think of a young Clive Owen?

My God, I must say that tonights episode (Series 2 Season Finale) has got to be some of the greatest television I have ever seen. The end is really very shocking, and I am already contemplating what has happened and what is to come.

Great season finale, could not tear my eyes away. Good cliffhanger also, cannot wait for the 3 season.

That cliffhanger killed me! Ahhh! Typical Brits!! They're such sadists, they do this kind of thing all the time on their TV shows!

I've just watched the entire second season over the weekend, and that cliffhanger is going to drive me nuts. There has to be something in that final montage that I'm missing; I keep playing it over and over in my mind, knowing they must have snuck some sort of clue in there about how things resolve. This is going to be a couple of months of hell waiting. :)

When I had cable I watched most of the first season of MI5, minus probably one eppisode. I recently bought the first season and DVD and am watching it again. Is the second season on DVD yet region1? (or did you have the 2nd season tapped, chinkeroo?) I love this show!

There is one little clue, it has nothing to do with how Tom escaped (maybe he didn't? I don't know) but it is to do with te death of Harry.

Maybe you've spotted it, if you have, then this point is...erm....pointless...

I know there are many here that would frown on this, but I went the bit torrent route. I wanted to watch the British cuts, and I couldn't wait after that first season cliffhanger. I'll buy the DVD's of season two when they come out in the fall just to ease the greasy, dirty feeling.

Paul,
Do you mean the drip they have going on Harry when they wheel him out of the house, or did I miss something else?
Thanks.

Yup! You're right.

I can't wait til they bring Series 2 out on DVD here on 30/08 and the new series is being filmed now, ready to be shown in the autumn! Yay!

I'm pretty sure that it's sadly not yet.

I think season 2 is out on region 2 next month, so if you have a multi-region player you might have some luck there.

Good good, like I said above, Series two is out on the 30th August, with series 3 being shown sometime in the autumn. It's being filmed at he moment.

Athena, I'm pretty sure you'd get the full versions, I can't see why you wouldn't, but you know how they do sometimes dumb things down for you Americans :)

And the bloke who plays Danny, David Oweolo's brother is in the year below at my actingf school, which is nice!

Then why not come over to the US and suffer waiting. :) Lucky.

It's cool though, as long as they put some good extra features on hopefully.

Almost certain it is the full UK version. I've downloaded the first season and also own the dvd's and cannot pick out any deleted scenes, words, etc. There were several words which would have been ...well... they're words you wouldn't even hear on NYPD Blue. Season two will tell for certain, more naughtyness there, including the strip club scene :) .

Always glad to hear about a good television series. Perhaps I will rent the first season from Netflix since I never seem to catch the show when it is broadcast on the A&E Network.
