All I can say is that after GE, Serra definitely wouldn't be my first choice for Bond 21.

I have to agree with Kingdom Come about Joel McNeely. He does great re-orchestrations. I own his "Batman Trilogy" CD and I think at some points, it's even more powerful than Elfman's original scores (don't care much about Batman Forever).

I own the same CD gkgyver! It certainly is faithful to Elfman's (and Goldenthal's) scores, though I wouldn't say the cues were more powerful. There's something about Elfman. He has a "sound" that I can always seem to pick out, and it's brilliant. Even in Mission: Impossible, I could still hear his 'sound.'

Do you tihnk he'd be a good contender for a Bond score? M:I wasn't bad, and I loved his version of the theme on the entrance to Langley.

I didn't want to say it's better than the original, the orchestra is just more powerful at some points.
We already had numerous discussions about Elfman and the James Bond franchise. About ten years ago, Elfman would have been a great choice for a new Bond score, but Elfman's recent scores aren't really jaw-dropping (mildly expressed).
Although he had only about one month time for The Hulk, I look at it as a mid-grade disaster.
Additionally, Elfman gets about 1 Mio. $ for one movie, and I have more than one doubt that MGM is willed to pay this amount.

His score for the Planet Of The Apes (2001) was pretty good but nowhere near as good as the origianl Goldsmith score.

I would like to have Howard Shore score Bond. If he made a score like Panic Room, and changed a few parts, it could be a good score. I always thought the Panic Room theme sounded like a Bond villian theme, myself.

It's taking me a while to like these scores.... I have so far grown to like FYEO, LALD, GE but not TSWLM...

Anyone remember Chase in St.Petersburg, I kinda don't remember the title that well, i think thats what it is called. Such a terriblly composed song. But I did like Run, Shoot, Jump, that was thrusting.

I like most of it. The theme when Bond and Xenia are racing is flat out horrible but I liked most of the score and I did buy it in '95. I hate Tina Turner's song though...
