Gotta concur, Fiona Volpe from Thunderball is superb, one of the most beautiful girls of the entire series she's "an animal", and certainly should be caged. I'm sure a lot of Xenia Onatopp was modelled on her.

Irma Bunt has to take first prize. Not only does she survive but she has the final word by helping to gun down Bond's bride. In fact I think she pulls the trigger if I'm not mistaken.

She probably would have got more votes if she had been in any other Bond film instead of NSNA!!

I didn't mind Fatima Blush. In fact, she was probably the highlight of NSNA. But there was just something a bit too over-the-top about her. And maybe my lack of enthusiasm for NSNA may have something to do about it.

1) Fatima Blush
2) Fiona Volpe
3) Rosa Klebb
4) Helga Bradnt
5) Miss Taro
6) Bambi & Thumper

Irma Bunt is not a Connery villainess... Fatima rules! She's the only memorable character in NSNA.

I don't see that the film should make any difference.

1) Fatima - so over-the-top, those ridiculous clothes and just for being an all-round top psycho.
2) Fiona - this woman saves Thunderball. Her few scenes elevate that overlong aquatic adventure to a new level.
3) Rosa Klebb - cant go past those glasses she first wears when she meets Tatiana.
4) Irma Bunt - a bit of a Rosa-like, but with a German accent, which makes her all the more impressive.
5) Miss Taro - I always liked the way she said that the mountains were "nice and cooooooooooool".
6) Helga Brandt - they saw over 200 women and who do we get? Fiona Volpe rehash (not really the actresses fault). Still she screams impressively.
7) Bambi & Thumper - Cute names. Dull girls. And really not terribly villainous. Not up to standard (like most things in DAF).

My favourite Bond villainess? It's got to be Colonel Jacques Bouvoir in drag from Thunderball. Only kidding, my fav is without a doubt Fiona Volpe. She's wild, sexy and deadly. The bath scene in Thunderball where Bond hands her a pair of shoes is one of my all time favourite Connery scenes. She certainly set the standard of femme fatales in the Bond films.

Fatima without a doubt. She's also in the top two of the all time Femme Fatales (Xenia is the other).

Klebb is great too, but when I think Bond Villainess I think Femme Fatales.

Rosa Klebb, the protoype for the way all female Bond villians should be, ugly, twisted and diabolical. Irma Bunt would have had that as well if she had been developed in the way Fleming did in the novels. The kind of woman who the mere thought of her touching you makes your skin crawl. Fiona Vople, Fatima Blush and Xenia Onatopp made you think that if I could find away to shag her without getting killed, I'd go for it. But Bunt and Klebb were just apalling to think about, cold and evil.

Definitely Fiona Volpe. As gorgeous as she is deadly, Miss Volpe's the definitive femme fatale for the Bond series and the one who set the standard against which all other Bond bad girls are measured. However, I give honorable mention to Helga Brandt/SPECTRE #11. Often dismissed as a "poor woman's Fiona Volpe", Karin Dor gives a fine performance in the role. YOLT was the 3rd Bond movie I saw and I saw it prior to seeing TB, so much of Miss Brandt's behavior was shocking to me. I had previously seen LALD and saw how Bond turned Solitaire to his side so I fully expected him to have the same success with #11 but when after she seemed to fall for his charms only to try to murder him via sabotaged plane I was completely surprised. Her subsequent execution by Blofeld via piranha pool ranks alongside the deaths of Jill Masterson and Tracy Bond as one of the most unforgettable demises of a Bond girl.

Bottom line: Fiona's the best bad Bond girl overall but Helga's the most underrated one.

Fiona Volpe is off the scale - probably the sexiest female character good or bad

Quite fond of the "Evil photographer" in Dr No - not much of an actress but Margaret LeWars is beautiful. Met her about fifteen years ago in Kingston (Jamaica, not Surrey) - I was fourteen...it's an older woman thing.

I'd agree that Helga Brandt is underrated; very sexy in that opening scene in Osato's office.

Blofeld in drag looks like my mother in law.
