I think it would be great if CBn had a "In memory of..." page where all of the deceased people associated with the Bond films and books can be remembered. Here are just some of the people that would be on it:

Kingsley Amis (1922-1995)
Pedro Armendariz "Kerim Bey" (1912-1963)
Maurice Binder (1925-1991)
Albert R. "Cubby" Broccoli (1909-1996)
Adolfo Celi "Emilio Largo" (1922-1986)
Ian Fleming (1908-1964)
Gert Frobe "Auric Goldfinger" (1913-1988)
Walter Gotell "General Gogol" (1924-1997)
Charles Grey "Ernst Stravo Blofeld" and "Henderson" (1928-2000)
Curt Jurgens "Carl Stromberg" (1915-1982)
Bernard Lee "M" (1908-1981)
Lotte Lenya "Rosa Klebb" (1898-1981)
Cec Linder "Felix Leiter" (1921-1992)
Desmond Llewlyn "Q" (1913-1999)
Jack Lord "Felix Leiter" (1920-1998)
Donald Pleasence "Ernst Stravo Blofeld" (1919-1995)
Harold Sakata "Oddjob" (1920-1982)
Telly Savalas "Ernst Stravo Blofeld" (1925-1994)
Robert Shaw "Red Grant" (1927-1978)
Herve Villechaize "Nick Nack" (1943-1993)

That's a great idea. I often find myself wondering if some of my favourite Bond characters are still with us, but only being a minor movie buff and not really an afficianado I don't really know too much about the actors in general.

I knew about Shaw because I read it on a Jaws website. '85 he died I think although I could be wrong, it was a heart attack I know that much.

One that came as a shock to me though was Bernard Lee (hearing it on the FYEO DVD0, i thought he'd just retired or something.

I’ll tell you what Righty, if you:
  • compile a larger list, including some of the lesser actors and some of the other important figures (Such as Bob Simmons, Anne and Casper Fleming, and Teru Shimada)
  • include birthdates (not just years)
  • dates (again not just year) of death
  • reason of death
  • write an introduction
  • write a short tale or two about some interesting points about some of these peoples deaths (Pedro Armendáriz’s death, for instance, has many interesting aspects. The fact he knew he was dying when filming From Russia With Love, the conversation he and Fleming had about suicide, the conection between his cancer and the movie The Conqueror. Though Pedro’s tales are already well chronicled.)
Do all this and send it to me in a PM and I will post it with your byline.

If Mr. Asterix likes what I sent him, we should be able to see my work up on CBn in the very near future. I can't wait!

Mister Asterix is currently indisposed, but only for a short time. This "In Memory Of..." feature has now joined the holding patern along with the other projects that he is working on. :)

Not much finesse in that comment.

This suggestion was only made 3 days ago, and while there other projects currently being worked on for longer than that, there has been no indication what so ever that this particular one won't happen.

Oh well, if this is what we have to put up with, it could influence us in not wanting to follow through with the next good suggestion like Righty's one.

Oh come on guy's, just because that there is not an entire page up in 3 days doesn't mean it's not going to happen. The staff members are not going to drop everything there doing just because we want a new page. It is also funny that the person who had this idea is not complaining that it is taking time to develop, only people who have nothing to do with it.

And for the staff members: please do not disregard this idea because of a few people who like to poke their nose into everybody elses buisness, I think it would be a wonderful addition to this site, and the longer it takes, the better it will be.

If Righty has a problem with the site, then he should confront the people who run the site, to try to come to some understanding regarding the problem, and not going behind their back and complaining to people who do not control this site, that will never solve the problem
