Hi guys.

It's been a while. I was a regular poster during the Skyfall period...but shied away during the "Bond wilderness" after the latest films, since nothing much goes on for a while after that. Good to see the old faces still kicking about here; Vauxhall, Gildrose, Guy Haines, Tdalton, Iceskatergirl!

So Rome eh? Would love to see Bond 24 shoot there. We've seen Venice a couple of times, Rome would definitely be welcome! Lovely city.

Yay welcome back! :D

And Rome would be a great place for Bond to go.

Having said that, I love Italy and it did occur to me that the producers and crew probably love it too and, having had such a great time being there the first time, with the great food and wine the country has, they figured they'd rather like to go back given the chance, hence off they go again. Can't blame them. I first went in 2011 and have been back every year since lol.

With the persistent casting rumors of a Scandinavian Bond girl and a black villain, I was looking forward to the oft-discussed possibilities of Sweden and South Africa as locations.  Can't complain about Rome, but I would much rather see Bond in a country he's not visited before, and not just a city.

As long as we get some snow in Bond 24, I can get behind the idea of Bond going to Rome.  At least it's somewhere he's never been, even though we will have now seen Italy in three of Craig's four films.

The prospect of a car pursuit through the streets of Rome sounds promising, and Rome could be to Bond24 what Instanbul was for From Russia With Love, a dark and mysterious place to have a spy adventure.

Agree on a car chase, with ruins and landmarks along the way.

I have to admit, even if it's just concealed machine guns ala Skyfall, I'd like to see an 'optional extra' used in a Bond 24 car chase.

The bar has been set by Captain America The Winter Soldier, which features one of the most breathlessly exciting car chases I've ever seen. I hope they top that.

If they can combine the fun aspects of a car chase (OHMSS' demolition derby) with high stakes (chasing after Vesper in CR), adding Roman backdrops would be icing on a very entertaining cake.

Seeing Bond take on a foe in/around the Coliseum would be cheesy as hell, but they've GOT to use it somehow if they're in Rome, it just looks too mighty to pass as a set piece. Two modern gladiators battling it out in the catacomb of the ancient relic.

And PLEASE let Craig use the environment around him and mutter...

"Roman builders!"

It would be rather cheesy, which is why they shouldn't do it.  Just because Bond 24 should take on a lighter tone than its predecessors doesn't mean that it needs to become a Roger Moore film, which is what having Craig and one of the film's villains square off in the Coliseum would most likely turn itself into.

I agree. There is so much of Rome to be featured, and the Coliseum seems like the easy/too obvious choice. Also, Way of the Dragon proved that there will never be a greater fight in that structure than the one depicted in that film! ;)

So does that mean no pizza for Bond either?  ;)

How about three times within the space of three films: TSWLM, MR, FYEO.

And let's not forget the Broccoli ethnic lineage.

Exactly. Seeing Rome on screen is not going to make anyone think "Here again" because of having seen Lake Garda, Venice etc a few films back.

No more than they did seeing Venice and Cortina after Sardinia back in the late 70s and early 80s.

Completely agree. That sequence was such a thrill, and easily one of the best car chases put to screen.

While it won't be a detriment to the film, it still would be nice if they varied up their locations a bit.

Considering there's a whole continent Bond has never visited it makes you wonder. But I'll wait until we see the final product.

Interestingly, Mission Impossible 5 is also filming in Austria. It will come out at Christmas 2015 after Bond 24. That should prove a fun movie-going season.

I am glad to see that CBN is always up to date  with the latest news on Bond 24. Keep up the good work!

More evidence that Rome will be a shooting location here:
http://www.contatton...24-bond/257213/

If this source is to be trusted, it says that Bond 24 casting started in Rome last week and  that filming in Italy is scheduled for February and March 2015 and will take place  in Rome - as previously leaked - and also in Campania (the region located to the south of Lazio).

Luigi, good to see you back. Just had a major flashback to SKYFALL filming, as you beat me (as usual) by three minutes to that bit of news!

Rome and Campania sound great.

Think this is it, new comics.
