That is sweeeeeeeeeet. I particularly appreciate the muzzle flash I think the GE/TND CGI Binder barrel would work best for the final product. Hope someone at EON sees this!

I'm down with that idea!

Maybe something like this?

I say more like this - they already got it perfect in the poster design! Obviously not having Bond walking down the barrel, but this design is gorgeous. They just.. for whatever reason decided to use something more resembling a sewer pipe for the actual film.

I like the gun barrel of the very first film-Dr No. It was for me the signalling of first Bond appearance in the widescreen. It still chimes in my memory having read that novel in1958.

I think they should use this as well. It's something new yet still retains the classic ripple design with the jagged shine on the upper left. This would make for a good gun barrel. New, yet classy.

The gun barrel from the end of Skyfall please but I want it returned to where it belongs in a Bond film, the start not the end!

That's genuinely amazing. I completely understand the Gunbarrel being at the end, but the design was just random. It has no consistency, considering the one you used was all over the advertising campaign. It always bothered me why they didn't go for that design in the first place. Great work.

Yeah that is fantastic. Odd that Craig hasn't had an even half-way decent gunbarrel. They're easily the worst of the series.

Agreed, Craig's gunbarrels are very underwhelming, which goes against what I've come to expect from his era. In this one he just seems to be going through the motions to get it over with.

AGREED! That's what made James Bond! The gun barrel at the beginning. If it's not there in the next Bond film, I will be an unhappy fan.

Agreed. He needs a chance to do one really really good gun barrel.

Frankly I wouldn't care if it appeared at the end or the beginning on the film. Skyfall did it great and it was nice to have it at the end. But at the same time I miss it at the beginning either one can be used to start or end a great film. But I don't think the Gun Barrel should ever end with action before it because I feel people would than think it's was to actiony. The good thing about having it at the beginning is it feels like your in for a blast so either one is good. I do like how they changed it up the last couple of years, Another advantage of having it at the end is you can use it to implement text at the end of the film like Skyfall did.

It should be at the beginning of the next one, no excuses.

Again, I don't really care where it is. I do agree with the assertion that none of Craig's gunbarrels were very good. Although, I do appear to be in the minority in thinking that the QoS gunbarrel is his best. I especially like seeing him walk away in that one. Overall though, I think his gunbarrels are too flashy. Once again, it shows the problem with CGI.

yes! thank you. I think that's where it has always been and where it should always be. It's a trademark of the Bond franchise.

I'd also prefer it to be in the beginning of the film, per classic tradition. Toned down CGI-wise, of course.
However, realistically, I'm not sure we will ever see a Craig gunbarrel at the beginning of a film. If they were going to do it, I feel that it would have happened already. Plus, at this point, Craig will be on his way out soon (presumably). So, if they plan to put it back in it's place, it'll be with the next actor to take on the role.
Besides, the gunbarrel scene being placed at the end is specific to Craig and I actually have learned to appreciate walking out of the theater with the scene fresh in my mind and that theme playing. It places a nice period on the end of a sentence we all wait for every couple of years.

I think we'll get it at the start. Remember, Mendes wanted to put it at the beginning of SF, but couldn't because of how Craig opens down the hallway. I doubt Mendes would open B24 in a similar way in which he wouldn't put it at the start.

Any thread that presents this, I'll say it every time:
I love a little change, that's fine, it keeps the 50+ history fresh. BUT for me the gunbarrel is THE iconic introduction to James Bond in film; it sets the tone and gets the blood pumping in those few seconds and should be at the beginning.
Here's hoping it will be for 'Bond 24'.
