I too think there is still a demand, but we are in a rareified position of discussing something in a forum vacuum that may, in the business sense, now be redundant. I was just trying to take myself outside of a forum based debate.

Why is this on the main page if it isn't official? It's great that CBN is getting more efficient with 'news' but there have been a few silly ones. It's not exactly front page news when the BBFC rate a Skyfall TV Spot...

Those of you who buy the posters, which one do you think is the best? I was hoping to get the "final" one to put up in my new flat, but now we know there isn't one, I'm not sure which to choose. I like the "sliding Bond" one but I don't think it looks that great in portrait.

I'm a fan of the IMAX poster. From the others, I choose the very first poster which JCRendle posted above.

I went with the portait white poster. Once I saw the design on that bus it became "official" to me. It has really, really grown on me since and I hope it is the design they go with for the DVD cover.

I like the teaser design, but it's a bit... bland to me. It is a real shame they couldn't manage any better than that.

The final poster - our beloved Prom Night Bond - is the only thing that is disappointing about SKYFALL.

But I think they just wanted the posters to remain vague because they did not want to spoil all the surprises. They just wanted to say: Daniel Craig is Bond in a new film. Go see it.

Yeah, but people here you had no idea what the film was about were able to create infinitely more interesting posters than those who are making the film. I understand being understated, but there is no reason for so much empty space on that Bond on the ground poster. Even if its something as simple as an image of London upside down at the top, if would have went a long way to making the campaign memorable. I just don't think MGW or BB have an idea for this sort of thing.

Hi JC - is the above a poster that has actually gone to print or was it just a digital mock up for the internet?

As an aside, I think I am right in saying that with Skyfall, marketing has become truly global in the poster design department.

This to say that unlike previous Bond films, each country, or later territory, would have its own poster design. Even QoS had its own images for the Japanese market but thus far, I have yet to see any variation of the V1 Teaser tunnel art, the V2 white lying down art, or the V3 main barrel / London art - character posters, notwithstanding.

Has any other Bond film utilised just the one design per campaign segment (be it Teaser or Main) for the entire world?
