GG: "Ah, Mr Bond...have we met before?"
007: "If we did, I would've remembered".
For some reason, I just love that line. Also memorable is the exchange between Bond & Xenia at the casino in GoldenEye, which begins with "It appears we share the same passions".
So which are your favourite lines from the Pierce era?

One of the best and most character defining lines in any Bond film.

His tone of voice says it all.

Bond: "Never."
His expression looks like he knows she knows about the events of LTK.

I'd agree with the lines mentioned from Die Another Day. It's a shame that there really is so much good in the first half of the film when the second half falls apart.

GoldenEye: "That depends on your definition of safe sex," and "No more foreplay."
Tomorrow Never Dies: "You always were a cunning linguist James," and the newspaper headline "The Empire will strike back."
The World Is Not Enough: "First things first," and "I never miss."
Die Another Day: "Saved by the bell," and "You've been down here too long."

"Just surviving, Mr. Chang. Just surviving."
Ha i love that one too.
The whole Q scene in GoldenEye dare i say it is the best Q scene of the series.

Actually he has an even better line in the bookDie Another Day: "Saved by the bell," and "You've been down here too long."
Q started up a short flight of steps to a tiled tube passage. Bond followed him until they arrived at another unused underground platform.
"Your new transportation." Q pressed a button on the wall and a flatbed rail truck emerged from the darkness. In the half-light of the underground, it appeared to be completely empty.
Bond glanced at Q and back at the truck. "I'd heard about the budget cuts..."

I'm not saying its the best line at all, I just didn't know where to mention this but I always disliked that scene because Bond was in the Navy and I guess I figure he should have known what he was doing.

Instead of "A slight miscalculation," I always thought he should have replied "A slight change in plan."

It's not like Bond shot up the controls himself, thinking that that would make the sub surface...
Instead of "A slight miscalculation," I always thought he should have replied "A slight change in plan."
I agree, that would have sounded a lot better IMO.

"Miss?"
"Doctor Jones, Christmas Jones. And don't make any jokes, I've heard them all."
"I don't know any doctor jokes."
It's well played by Pierce and Denise's facial reaction is great.

I always like how relaxed Pierce is when he's saying this. It's this great moment where Bond is in a mode of total confidence. as if the whole Russian army could pour into the room, have all the exits covered and he still has a way out.

Can you really blame him? He's ready to get so in her pants with that, you know it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's definitely the best joke related to her name. Much better than the final line of the film. Granted, I never found it (the "I thought Christmas only comes once a year") to be as bad as others on the forum seem to. The problem is it's just too obvious to the point where it seems like they named her that just for the sake of using that joke. At least the doctor joke could work regardless of her name (provided that her name is still something ridiculous).
To be fair though, those are really the only two jokes related to her name in the whole film. It could have been worse.
Funny he's talking about a a draft when a few lines before he wanted Alec to buy him a pint. It only makes sense! How's that for a play on words?"SHUT THE DOOR ALEC! THERE'S A DRAFT!"

Off the top of my head:
GoldenEye: "That depends on your definition of safe sex," and "No more foreplay."
Far too much of his written dialogue was a cheese-fest.
These lines from Goldeneye are easily the best IMO. No cheese, just clever and direct and most importantly they are part of the action, driving the scene along, rather than comments for the audience benefit about the scene, like an internal monologue said out loud.
In fact i think this scene in general is Brosnan's best as Bond. I remember watching Goldeneye for the first time and at that moment thinking, oh yeah, this guys is James Bond. To be honest what defines Bond more than almost anything else is the mixture of sex & violence and this scene mixes them perfectly.
ETA: I think for a line to ultimately be judged as a good line you have to ask, does the seen still work if i remove this line?
With most of the lines in this thread the scenes would still make 'dramatic sense' without them, so they are just gags tacked-on the end as though Bond is a stand up comedian delivering a punchline to the action. But with this exchange with Xenia they drive the scene, motivating each characters next move, plus they are genuinely witty - that's really good scriptwriting.
However, when you've got a Bond as perfectly sardonic as Connery, then i guess you can get away with tacking-on a gag like '....Positively shocking!' on the end of a seen

"Ask the Admiral where he'd like the bombs delivered" - Nice, saracastic line with Bond showing his contempt for authority.
"Wait! I am just a professional doing a job!" Brozza's response: "Me too." followed by the gunshot - very cold, very Bondian, similar to Dalton's interrogation scene with Pushkin.
Bond's response to Stamper's relationship with Dr. Kaufman - "Really - interesting role model."
I also liked the way Bond calls Carver by his first name "Elliot" throughout the movie - it seems like that gets under Carver's skin, and I don't recall any other Bond movie where he refers to the villain by his first name throughout the film.
Carver spotting a dozing henchman not watching the monitor on the stealth boat as Bond and Wai-Lin come aboard - "What the hell am I paying you for!!"
