Looks the fantastic adult thriller a James Bond movie should be. Very much looking forward to this.

Can definitely hear subtle hints of the Bond theme in there, namely right at the end. Pre-release descriptions be damned!

I need to see it again, so much to take in, but the two-note thuming drum beat carrying the trailer along worked so well...very chilling and exciting!

Hell, they even got Bond shooting his Walther in time with the beats...how much attention to detail do we have now?! :D

And the coffins...how eerie and chilling....!

Bond's face when the analyst mentions 'Skyfall' - that brief flash of action, and M looking on...now THAT looks brilliant..acting kudos to Craig!!

Okay, it's 4am here in NYC. I'd normally be asleep but the baby woke me up around 2:30.

I've watched this about 5 times now and am blown away by how this looks. I don't think we have seen a Bond film with this level of cinematography. I'm tempted to see this in the IMAX format, knowing full well that this wasn't shot with an IMAX camera.

BTW, I sporting about 3 days growth of facial hair. I wonder if Naomie Harris can shave me with that straight razor...

I don't think we can link to screenshots AoS...see Jim's previous post!

Nice image though, glad it was in the teaser.

Going to be brutal here - I know I'm up against some fan-boys so will get struck down here - but that was as about as generic as a bunch of spanners! It should have screamed "BOND IS BACK" after his long break for the 50th Anniversary. As it was, it might as well have been any run-of-the-mill Jason Statham vehicle (not helped by one in particular lacking element replaced with the obligatory sound-scapes and cliched thuds). Let's focus on the positives - the cinematography is amazing, it gives nothing away, the cast is stellar. But to the average movie goer, there isn't going to be too much of excitment here that says "Bond" to them. At the end of the day, it won't matter so long as the film is good - but as a teaser it failed to ignite (for me anyway).

At around 1:16 there's a brief shot of what looks like Craig strangling his own clone in a vat of Irn Bru. I'm curious about that.

Great eye mate, I miss that. Really need to know what is going on there.

The shot of Bond fighting underwater instantly reminds me of Bond fighting Kanaga, putting in the pressure pellet. Mendes is a LALD fan.

Some observations:

Obviously, gorgeous cinematography. That's the main takeaway from this. The shot of the target and the nighttime China images were especially luminous and rich. Skyfall is probably going to spoil us for cinematography.

Interesting that there were no clear shots of Bardem, though presumably he's the wild-haired silhouette walking away from the conflagration.

The question session is clearly not a simple briefing or perfunctory checking out. It has a strong psychiatric vibe, not just from the body language but because Bond has that sweatshirt on. There's something recuperative about that sweatshirt, especially when contrasted with a three-piece suit. It's as if Bond is slightly unhinged and needs to be dressed comfortably.

Thanks, I'm not sure if it's posing as a problem or not. it's just a link and not that actual image I have with my post. I'll edit it if it becomes a problem.

No disrespect towards Jim and his post at all.

I've never seen a Jason Statham film that looked like that.

I get what you are saying, but if they convince people this is a good film, the Bond part takes care of itself. And let's not forget the teaser poster goes over board in the Bond iconography, so it's not like people won't know there is a new Bond film.

That's funny, for me it was the granddaughter at 340. And I agree the cinematography looks amazing....Well time to go back the sleep and dream of Naomie.

Killer Elite had great cinematography, but not Deakins great.

As I said, I expect to get shot down or drowned out with crazed fanboy rantings saying it's amazing. Obviously everyone will say they love it for the next day or so. The proof to its success will be seen a few days down the line after this. Believe me, I really want this film to work as much as everyone. I am being cynical, but that was just an exercise in lazy marketing. Part generic noisy action film trailer, part trying to cash in on "Tinker Tailor". Failed on both levels. It's Bond, it has its own identity and brand they should have played too.
