Hurricane Gold #007 is the jewel of my YB collection I think. I also love my Chinese SilverFin because Charlie gave it to me as a surprise at a book signing. I'm also happy I have a full set of proofs (including the rare spiral bound HG and BRC proofs).

Zencat am I correct you bought the 007 Hurricane Gold for £160ish? If so I think it was a very good investment.

I think I have everything apart from American proofs of anything after Bloodfever.

My favourite has to be an unused perfect foil envelope and signed Silverfin Proof.

Also think the By Royal command proof will prove to be extremely scarce.

Zencat do you have the foil Silverfin proof wrapper?

I'm ashamed to say I don't have the foil SilverFin proof wrapper. I bought a proof off eBay before I even knew about the wrapper. Now they are just too expensive.

The US only did proofs of SilverFin and Blood Fever, so you are complete there.

Yes, I think the HG 007 cost me around £160. I was happy to pay it. :(

Makes me feel better about the prices I'm considering to pay for a signed and slipcased SilverFin...

£160 is not too bad a price for what has to be the limited edition book of the series and as far as I'm aware all the other 007 of the Silverfin, Blood Fever, Double or dies went to The Ian Fleming Foundation, would you swop it for a signed James Bond card!

Talk to me before you pay too much. I have an extra that I might be willing to part with. I also have an extra DOD.

I actually considered it a bargain. Nope, no swap. :)

Did the other #007s go to to IFP? I've never heard that. I assumed they've just never come to light.

First I've heard of that, too. Where did you come across that bit of info, 003.5? I'd held out hope that either of my Blood Fever or Double or Die might be that elusive #007.

With Double or Die they started putting a sticker on the outside saying what number it is, so I suspect 007 was snapped up. But they didn't do this with SF and BF, so I'm thinking it's possible 007 is still out there. Copies on eBay are typically still sealed.

Yeah, the copy of Blood Fever I snagged on eBay is still sealed (number unknown). My copy of Double or Die is on order from Hatchards, so maybe #007 was buried among the copies they received (wishful thinking, eh?).

I spoke to Charlie about it at a book signing wondering whether he was allowed to take 007 thinking he wrote the book so had first choice, however he said thought they went to the IFF as they got first choice. I might be incorrect but it would make sense as they are the most desirable?!

Dark - you never know until you open it, you're still in with a chance!

All the Uk hardback firsts.

Plus the Bloodfever and unnamed DOD proofs - but only because they were published before anything else and so gave me the chance to read early.

And extra copies of the slipcased limiteds for the kids' University funds :(

Oh, IFF? That's different from IFP. That's the Ian Fleming Foundation. They have all the best toys.

Hate to tell you this, but I went through Hatchards entire remaining stock and snatched the lowest number (011).

I really hate the whole low number priority thing. It's hard enough getting these books (especially when you live outside the UK), and now you have to sweat the number. :(

Damn you! :(

To be honest, I'm not hugely bothered about numbers. I'm just happy to have a copy. It's simply a bonus to have a number of some significance.

(Actually, on the numbers, is there any value to any numbers other than the lowest ones? For instance, would #999 be considered valuable being the last copy published?)

Can't list them all at the moment, but I have -

19 different editions of SilverFin

12 different editinons of Blood Fever

8 different editions of Double or Die

and

6 different editions of Hurricane Gold

Been really meaning to put together a more detailed database of all my Bond books to make collecting them much easier.

I got most of mine from the publisher, but you can find them on eBay. (In fact, I just scored a HG proof with a variant cover on eBay.)

Check out my HG gallery, Qwertz. There's a HG proof with a cover band that matches the final hardcover, and one that is different. I won't know much more about it until I get it.
