Now that we finally have a realistic Bond in the movies, let's not ruin it by putting him in outer space. Everytime outer space has reared its head in a Bond movie it's made it worse-see MR and YOLT and actually DAF (we did not need an orbiting laser, thank you very much). I ask you wouldn't you rather have seen an MR about a misguided guided missile than "JAWS IN SPACE" and the garden of Dr. Shatterhand rather than a "volcano lair". Daniel Craig deserves better and so do we.

I think this topic should be taken seriously by EON, and considered. And i'm not talking about a quick trip in a plane or something, I say they go for the full shabang - lasers, transporters, lightsabers, everything. Think of the great reasons - some of the most profitable AND critically acclaimed filmes take place in space... Star Wars, Apollo 13, Star Trek V, Planet of the Apes, 2001, Independence Day, and so many more. Now EON shouldn't go and give humans technology we just don't have or doesn't make sense - i mean there has to be a good reason for Bond to go to space. However, There is any easy way to write in a great reason for Bond in space while being cutting edge and having there also a good reason for advance technology. The World gets invaded by Aliens! Think about it... rather than Bond working for queen and country, now he'd be defending the earth for all of man-kind.

More reasons:

-There has yet to be a Bond girl from another planet.

-Easy way to write in characters from other franchises to add credibility and profits to the bond franchise... like Will Smith from Independence Day or Sigorney Weaver from Alien.

-Technology picked up by Bond could be used as great future bond gadgets.

-Special effects are now good enough to pull off such a monumental film.

Can anyone else add to the great reasons (I want to save some for others)?

I know that Grindhouse didn't do very well but if I was to ever see Bond go to space it would be in a double feature. The first movie could be set in the 60's and be reminiscent if Connerys first three movies only with a older grayer Bond sent on one of his last missions.I think that would be an excellent time to see Pierce Brosnan get the send off he deserves as he would be just about the right age. The second feature would star Craig and could be set in the future allowing for some really cool scenarios and space travel could be one of them. I think that could make for an extremely cool movie.

Bond almost dies, has a sex change, becomes Halle Berry and goes into space. Could work as a double feature.

Add some cyborg elements, a couple of hidden prosthetic limbs and x-ray vision and have one film directed by QT and the other one by that kid from the sixth sense and we'd have a double feature blockbuster!

Hey, folks; don't give americanbond any more ideas... :D

After all he did say that Star Trek V was one "of the most profitable AND critically acclaimed filmes" ever... :P
