It would be nice to see bond in outer space again, though it would look odd since it was a long time ago when they did this and many of the bond films plot on land or in water.

As long as it's plausible I would have not issue with it. Of course, the plausibility requirement doesn't really leave much room for a trip to space...

When the day comes that any person can go into space as easily as boarding a plane, and without the rigorous training that is curretnly required, then it will OK for Bond to go into outer space. If I want Flash Gordon, I'll watch Flash Gordon.

Well at least it doesn't seem likely for Bond 22 so far. :cooltongue:

Hopefully not, or at least not until technology catches up that going into space is a commonplace thing. Right now, it would still seem too "sci-fi" and not based in a grittier reality tone like CR seems to be leading us on, and hopefully won't change by the time Bond 23 and beyond are on the scene.

There are more than enough good stories to tell down here on planet earth (& this is coming from someone who likes Moonraker  ).

Agreed. Word by word.

I think Moonraker was and is one helluva good Bond movie. It has been since I was a kid and it still is, and nothing can make me change my mind. It has aged better than lets say ' Die Another Day '. :cooltongue:

And I really think it's a hauntily good (bond) movie, with that eerie feel that the space and the whole Drax's plan brings to the movie. But I think that Bond shouldn't go into the outer space again. Unless it was absolutely necessary.

He absolutely should go into outer space again! In fact, I think he should just quit MI-6 and become an astronaut. And he could get into all kinds of crazy adventures with Martians, and Ewoks, and Wookies, and Ripley, and Captain Kirk to boot. In fact, they should give him an invisible space ship that does double warp speed and has an automated Martini maker. In fact, I think I'm going to e-mail Barbara Broccoli and pitch her my idea for Alien Vs. Predator Vs. Bond! :cooltongue:

But we should keep it grounded in reality too. There should be a part where he's hunting man-eating lions in Tsavo.

With Daniel Craig I can't see it, but if he goes it has to be for a reality based reason. :cooltongue: I too think Moonraker was great though.

No no no no no no no. Even though I enjoyed Moonraker when it came out (OK, I was 13) I don't think that Bond should ever venture into space again. When I watch Moonraker now it is almost cartoon like. I like the new realistic Bond much more so my vote on a space trip would be a "no".

I think Brosnan could've gone into outer space, but not Craig. It doesn't really suit the feel of the movies or his personality.

Well, if we really look back over the progression of the series, we can see the different seasons through which the tone has shifted from 'serious' to 'lighthearted,' and then back again to 'ser...
NO!!!

Ooh, I hope not! But how about Bond wearing a clown suit again? I'd rather see Bond go into space than dress as a clown. Clowns are the most evil and idiotic looking things ever! They've creeed me out ever since I was a kid.

Personally, until and unless there is some kind of commercialization or colonization of the moon, I can't see any way where it wouldn't be absurd, simply because there's no human threat force that would realistically be in outer space for him to go up against. Until and unless that situation changes, I would say that Bond should remain essentially within the confines of the Earth and its biosphere.

I couldn't agree more! Excellent post!
