News from AICN.

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/32924

Variety reports that Campbell is "in negotiations", while AICN seems to present it as a done deal. If Campbell does sign for this one, presumably it would rule him out of BOND 22.

Probably not, then.

Force it upon Roger Michell and make him enjoy it.

Forster. Wouldn't have to make him enjoy it, I'd bet, just wind him up and turn him loose.

Whilst I would like to see Martin Campbell return, I don't see this happening for Bond 22. I think that we'll see new blood in the director's chair. Maybe he'll sign on for a future entry in the series!

And if neither of them can make it, see if you can sign Jon Voight:

And if everything else fails, you can always cast Steven Seagal.

I would like to see Campbell back for Bond 22, but if he doesn't want to do it, then we don't want him.

Hey Martin if your going to make a movie that's already been done before it might as well be Bond. You're good at those.

Interestingly, 36 was previously going to be directed by Marc Forster who is supposedly in the running for Bond 22. Frees him up. Maybe they'll get Forster for 22 and Campbell back for 23. I don't know. I mean what are the odds for Campbell picking up a film that Forster was going to direct given his rumored connection to Bond 22.

Man, I look at that picture of Brosnan in DEATH TRAIN and wonder, how did that guy ever get the Bond gig? Dark years for the series, glad they're over with.

Hadn't heard that before. Will be pretty interesting if it eventually does turn out to be March Forster for Bond 22.

I just saw Stranger Than Fiction. I don't know about this guy. He certainly has imagination but I'm not sure if he can make a Bond movie really exciting. Maybe it was the script or maybe I have to see more of Forster's movies.

I would suggest Finding Neverland as that seems to be one of his other well-known recent films.

Though Campbell's definitely out for 22, let's wish him with his full slate.

Latest report that I've read (source:IMdB) indicates the following.
36: before Unstoppable. In pre-production, being produced by Robert DeNiro. Based on a French thriller from 2004. Script rewrite being done by Richard Price, of "Clockers" fame. Word is that DeNiro's stepped down from the lead role, with Price's rewrite changing the leads to a couple of thirtish detectives.

Grudge 3: set for release also in 2008, this seems to be scheduled to shoot before Unstoppable. Unusual choice. Maybe a little 'break' between two big-budget actioners?

Unstoppable: scheduled for release in 2009.

That should put him in line to helm Bond 23 (due out 2010?) shiould he so please. Unless EON falls in love with Forster and gets him back.

I'll say. I strongly suspect that this is but a fan rumour.

Certainly will be interesting to see what route EON take for the BOND 23 director. I imagine a huge emphasis will be placed on the reactions of fans to the "drama" promised under Forster's direction of BOND 22.

According to a memo that ComingSoon got ahold of, Unstoppable has been retitled Runaway Train.

The memo also has Martin Campbell listed as director of a movie called Villain for 2929 Productions.
