This seems very genuine. But if Campbell was in Paris yesterday... when does the meeting between SONY and EON take place? And why does he know in advance that it won

Well, well, well Loomis--Are you ready to concede our long argument that Pierce is NOT certainly coming back? :)

No. Anything can happen in three weeks. :)

This is great news. I personally am lead to believe that it is really a fight between these four. Looking back it seems that Goran vs. Craig is the final two. With Cavill and Worthington as the just in case the other two aren't signed.

Well there is no way to know--who knows maybe it's between Cavill and Worthington. PLUS I HAVE TO ADD AGAIN THAT CAMPBELL DID NOT SAY IT WAS ONLY THESE FOUR.

Seems like October will be a nice month!

I'd assume that Mr Campbell will be returning to London now for that all-important meeting...

Am I wrong in saying this is the first time an official person with a name has said it will not be Brosnan?

Things are really heating up now as far as Casino Royale news!! *makes Roscoe P. Coltrane noise!* Oooh I love it, i love it!! Now I wonder if we can disregard the news about Grover landing the role of the villian, which is now being reported on www.cinecon.com ?? However, he may not have landed the role of LeChiffre but possibly one of the henchmen...

The EON spokesman said it wouldn't. This is the first person directly connected to the film though, AFAIK.

I'm surprised that Campbell was happy to confirm that Cavill, Craig, Visnjic and Worthington have been tested. Okay, that information was already in the public domain, but I still find it odd that he was willing corroborate it and to name names.

I knew it.

I had six months of free time. And not lot to report.

In about three weeks I'm going to start university.

Like 2002, when I had to cover Die Another Day for the fellow German (due to a lack of reliable Bond websites) and at the same time had the most stressful time of my life as far as exams are concerned.

Perfect timing, Eon.

I love ya guys :)

Granted. But why name names at all? Why not say "We've been testing quite a few people", "Wait for the announcement", "Sorry, I can't talk about the actors concerned", "Names is for tabloids, baby", or something like that? Just strikes me as a bit strange, that's all.

CR is starting to cost me lots of sleep. Off lately I feel temptet to check the net every five to six minutes for news (actual news, not mere gossip) about CR. And when I don't look for half an hour: BANG comes this report! I hope I'll be able to sleep. For the next THREE WEEKS that is! :)
Most of what I've read so far seems pretty sound, doesn't it?

Good old French Club, well done :)

If memory serves me well, they also had a pretty good track record on reporting DAD news. Weren't they even the first to confirm the title back then?

Sorry Pal--I couldn't disagree more. Anyone but Goran please! Whether the other 3 on this list or perhaps a few hidden candidates.

Goran will be a great Bond if he is indeed the one.. Still would have liked Clive Owen, but there is no use crying over spilt milk is there? Goran is a great second choice in my opinon.

Yes, the French Club has a long history of scoring major scoops and providing very reliable info. That is why when I see something from the French Club, I don't think twice.

Great magazine, too. :)

Maybe Campbell let those names be known to get some kind of feedback, whether through message board forums such as this or through other sources. In any case, I'm not crazy with this bunch that has become widely known as the Final Final Four. Why does it have to be limited to four? If the other rumour we've heard lately is to be believed (that they're looking for Bond to be between 28 - 32 years old), then I would think that takes out Craig (who looks older than Brosnan sometimes) and Cavill (who looks too baby-faced in some pics that I've seen). I'm hoping there are other names under serious consideration that they're not divulging. Perhaps Ioan Gruffud or Karl Urban? (Come on Eon, take a hint. :) )

This is my thinking. I can't believe someone like O'Lachlan has been eliminated in favor of someone like Worthington. Still, this is very exciting (and encouraging) news. Hopefully, this will turn out to be true, and we'll get the announcement before the 30th. Notice that he actually says "announced", not "chosen". We should actually know in three weeks.

Very exciting find.
