Now we know why James Bond does not have a mustache.

The former 007's looking pretty trim, apart from that frightful moustache.

Oh, God. Please save that for a Caption Contest.

Looks more like a gay French fashion consultant than 007. I wish Fleming could see that.

Athena, thanks for pointing that photo up. I knew it would get some great responses. Had a great time last night at the screening!

You know, the more I hear from Jim, I seem to think that Pierce stole his girlfriend or something. It's always so personal!

Would love to see TCA on the big screen again.

Well, he wasn't there to be James Bond... he was there be Pierce Brosnan :). And the mustache = Pierce trying to be Clark Gable [?]

I suppose that's also his excuse for THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH.

Nah, don't worry. Has developed over time into random petty abuse. But no less enjoyable for that.

Such an easy target, though.

That's DNA, that is. You could clone him.

Assuming that strange yellowish tint to Brosnan's skin isn't down to some trick of the light or peculiarity of Athena's camera, I'd say he should see a doctor. Or sack his makeup man. One or t'other.

Anyhow, enough Brosnan-bashing from me (for the moment, at least). Athena, I hope you and zencat, as well as Bryce and all other CBners who attended, had a terrific evening. :) Anecdotes, please.

Quite the night it was!

Myself, Athena and Zencat, Ry and the man known to all at CBn as the Solex Agitator all converged on the theater and many cocktails (not too many but we were trying to calm Athena as she was a bit excited - I should have just brought her a big ball of yarn) and the inevitable shop talk began.

- What's Eon thinking?
- What's Pierce thinking?
- Where to go with Bond 21.
- The new/next Bond.
- What we'd like to see plot wise.
- Where to go. Locations etc.
- Can all four of us keep Athena in her seat once Pierce takes the stage?

The screening itself was fine. You know, nearly five years later, TCA is still a great caper/romance flick. Timeless in it's own way.

The post screening discussion was lively. More on that when I have chance.

Here's a quick shot I took during the "shop-talk".

A damn fine night!

Great pic Athena - Why do I always look like I'm in a Scotch ad?....Oh yeah...

Solex looks like he's on the verge of shooting the cameraman.

Damn fun!

OK....have we firmly established that Ry is not Matt Damon, or is that still up for debate? :)

Since was supposed to be in honor of the coming TCA sequal, what did Pierce and Co have to say about it? Anything?

Xenobia...all I want to do is date the same woman as Matt Damon does, not be him. Oh well. I spoke about the sequel and claimed that he wasn't sure whether they would be able to top it. It's one of those wait and see situations.

MGM wants to do a sequal. The Producers do not believe it would work and aren't planning on making a TCA2 any time soon. The Charactures have done their story, there's no where to go without it being a bad-cheesy sequal. (not their words of course, but that's what I got from them while they were talking)

And a wonderful evening it was!

It was nice to see TTCA on the BIG screen again and it was quite the nice Q and A.

The evening's highlight, however, was the exchange of all thoughts 007 with the most capable and lethal group I have yet to encounter socially. It was wonderful meeting some of the group for the first time and equally as nice reconnecting with the handful that I had previously had the pleasure! I do hope to see you all again the future!

And then there were the cocktails. Generously poured I might add. Generously poured.

Solid.

Were there any Bond-related questions during the Q&A?

Yes. He was asked if was coming back and he said exactly what he said on AMC, almost word for word. All he added was, "They know where to find me." And everyone applauded.

Hey...at least everyone applauded and sensed where he is coming from. It's nice to see the crowd appreciate that.

I hate to say it but I agree with Athena, (not that I hate agreeing with Athena, but that I have to agree with her opinion), but a TCA II sequal would be cheezy, unless, as someone else has suggested they do it ala "The Thin Man."
